Is the first concept a character piece or the concept for an entire squad of these models?

I would also like to know that. Maybe this release could be a good opportunity to stealthily add some female bits to the regiments range, such as a couple of regiments designs that fit with the DotBR?

Morning folks,

@Scarletrose - Yes, Death is going to be part of the Kickstarter, and is theoretically part of the same force, but certainly one of the more "out there" characters, design wise.

All the models will have gothic medieval base element to them, but some will be more fantasy, more sci-fi, more unhuman, more robotic etc..

The more funding we get, the more designs we unlock, and backers can pick and choose which models they want to best suit suit the army/faction they are trying to build.

@BrookM - Initially we will do just one or two snipers and they will be characters, but if there is enough interest we can easily expand the design into a 5 woman multi part light infantry squad.

@ElvisJuice - This project actually came out of the female regiments project - We started off wanting to include gothic armoured models as one of a number of styles, then quickly realised that we have enough ideas and models that The Burning Rose quickly became an entirely separate project.

The female regiments models, in styles the same as the existing male range, will be developed and released as regular products, during the period the KS stuff is in development.

The female regiments models and the KS Daughters will be partially, but not fully, compatible with each other. We have not made all the final design decisions.

Thanks

Awesome, despite having bought loads of Regiments stuff I haven't really got round to using them to build an army yet, so now I'll probably hang on until I can mix in some ladies

The cyber-dog and handler artwork that went up on FB yesterday is brilliant. Intrugued by the designs on p. 153, especially the two floaty ones one; demonhosts?

Evening all,

Concept artwork for Burning Rose Gladiators, Assault specialists with lighter armour and plenty of lethal melee weapons!

These deadly fighters will be a five women unit, and will be an early stretch goal in our Kickstarter, launching April 12th.

More information here :

http://anvilindustry.co.uk/burning-rose

We will be offering two handed melee weapon arms, with a selection of melee weapons to choose from. If there is enough interest we may also offer pistols and one handed melee weapons as options.

Thanks

Thanks everyone!

@ElvisJuice - Chris, (lead artist on the gladiator unit) has spent today doing some poses with the Zweihanders, which are all based on diagrams from medieval fighting handbooks, they look absolutely awesome, we will share a render soon.

For now here is a Robot assassin, which will come with a selection of head and melee weapon options.

Just a week to go now, So much to do still!

There is a nice Bioshock 2 vibe for the assassin between the monolens and the cybernetic drill - I can imagine painting those up like Big Sisters

Oh that is indeed gorgeous and they have an awesome, solid look to them as well!

Really liking the archaic bolter design as well, I'm actually tempted to get a squad or two to serve as militia for my Questoris Knights.

Oh wow, those look superb!

It also looks like they have solved how to make a modular gun with a classic rifle grip. Excellent!

If they were in HIPS too, I'd be in heaven. I hope that's a stretch goal in the KS.

It is unlikely for Anvil sadly, but I don't like resin and I can still attest to Anvil using the best, easiest to work with resin I have so far come across in the industry. It is crisp and resilient, yet still soft enough to fairly easily carve out in conversions, and the quality control is near perfect. Especially in comparison to FW, which is none of things except crisp, unless the poor quality is destroying the detail.

Hi all,

Thanks for posting the images up Ketara! As you can imagine I've had a rather busy time recently!

I'll certainly consider some more samurai style parts.

HIPS is not an option. Designing parts for plastic injection means you can't have undercuts.

Undercuts means that even with perfect quality injection moulding (not always guaranteed), we have to make compromises on the design of the miniatures, which I am not willing to do.

Sticking with resin means our prices will never be able to be as low as plastics, but I prefer to never compromise on quality .
@Haigus - thanks for your kind words!

we have indeed made a modular rifle stock after some trial and error with the design, it works well I think.

If it works with our test squad for the KS we will use it for the whole range and will at some point update the Regiments Fatigue arms with Phase carbine/shotgun to use the same design.
This also means we will be able to add armoured "rifle" style arms.

Not my thing so I won't be indulging (I'll wait for the next 'Afterlife' instalment!) I'm sure of two things though - they will be very popular (ergo a very successful KS campaign with lots of stretch goals reached) and of the highest quality.

Absolutely beautiful work, I hope Anvil can produce enough resin minis because I can see quite a lot of backers for this (including me).

@Dwartist - Thanks very much!

@ScarletRose - We have tripled the size of our manufacturing team in the past year, so I am confident we can deal with any volume. The important part will be ensuring we keep our quality standards high no matter how much we are producing!

Ready your weapons everyone! The crusade begins in just three days!
