The rule for grounded test says that if a flying MC swooping suffers a hit to make a roll for grounded after each hit is resolved. Does this mean even if the shot fails to wound, or even if the wound is saved the MC must make a test?

So massed fire from low str weapons can ground a flying MC?

I had a pistol bring down a flyrant yesterday, but your not taking one check per hit, it's one check per volley of fire from a unit....at least that's how it reads...and this does happen regardless of wounding.

Agreed, RAW state that you need only hit the creature to cause the test, not wound it. It also states "one or more hits from a unit's shooting attack", suggesting all fire from the unit counts as a single attack in terms of causing a grounding test. So Even if you hit it 17 times with a single unit, only a single grounding check would be required.
