Greetings! I am relatively new to Warhammer 40k. I purchased a Blood Angel Battleforce about a yr ago and am now getting around to painting it. However I was wondering if there was a way to convert my Rhino into any of the other tanks out there that I can use with my BA's. If anyone could throw me a little advice and or parts needed to purchase to convert the Rhino I would be extremely grateful. Thank you.

^^ Yeah, thats a good site. Alternatively there's loads of kits just on ebay, but the moral of the story is that it is very easy to convert rhinos into vindicators or predators or whatever you intend.

Or try Puppet's War for alternate turrets.

The warstore has a vindicator upgrade sprue. The other options might be cheaper/better option though.

Go on Ebay, you can find all those stores on there. Most of the upgrade sprues are around 15-20 bucks. Probably about the same for the other stores listed in the thread.

If you do it right, and magnetize everything you can just change up your tank to suit your mission. That is what I'm doing with my tanks.

It's worth mentioning as well that rhinos are fully compatible with all the stock GW "rhino-chassis" tank parts. So any SM vehicle that looks like a rhino can be built from a rhino set and a sufficient number of extra parts (be they regular GW pieces or third party bitz).

Chapter 5 - Ork Vehicles

Ork Vehicles in general are among the most dynamic and hard to convert and most complex designs that can be made. This is chiefly due to the level of complexity and creativity that can far surpass any other tank out there. However it does not necessarily need to be that way. Lets take a small trip into a quick and easy conversion that can turn any old tank kit that you may have into a looted wagon and just for fun lets go and make it with a boom gun because that is what is best for looted wagon in this humble conversion makers book!

Step 1: You will need the following,
1. Games Workshop Tank Kit.
2. Paint of your choice and you might need red paint too.
3. Modeling clippers
4. A Door Spring
5. Ork bits such as glyphs and such as well as any random building or other large plastic pieces lying around.
6. The nearest semi heavy blunt object from your chair
7. Rubber Bands
8. Super Glue
9. A model file
10. A Tau Gun from the stealth suits. The Fusion blaster one works best.

Step 2: Build the model as directed in the box it came it.

Step 3: Take the nearest blunt hard object near you and....fething KILL IT!...KILL IT NOW! SET THE TANK KIT ON FIRE THAN PUT IT OUT IF YOU HAVE TOO BUT JUST fething MAKE IT DDDDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Ok? Is the tank dead yet?

Now put it back together again with replacing any pieces too far destroyed and gone with those ork bits. Use rubber bands if needed or clippers to cut off bad pieces.

Step 4: Take the Tau gun and stick the tiny end of the door spring into the gun barrel to make your cannon.

Step 5: File off a flat part where the tau gun can glue flat to the tan and pick a spot where it can be centered onto the tank if possible.

Step 6: Glue Cannon on but do not forget to unscrew that flat round thing at the fat end of the door spring.

Step 7: Paint!

Step 8: WARNING!: DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME OR ANYWHERE UNLESS YOU ARE 21 YEARS OR OLDER AND DO NOT HAVE HEALTH PROBLEMS OR ALCOHOL PROBLEMS.
SIDE EFFECTS MAY INCLUDE JAIL OR DEATH.

Enjoy a tasty alcoholic beverage

As someone mentioned earlier, the Rhino chassis is the base for all other Space Marine tanks except the Land Raider - Razorback, Vindicator, Predator and Whirlwind. Searching eBay or bitz stores for turrets, side sponsons, cannons and other accessories should give you the inspiration and parts to convert your Rhino into any of those other tanks.

If all you want to do is have a Rhino/Razorback/Whirlwind you dont need magnets. Just the Razorback upgrade sprue and don't glue the top in. You need to magnatize the side doors to make it a predator too. I know you CAN but I wouldn't bother making a chassis convertible to a vindi. In sum you need the top, turret, and sponsons.

I disagree. Place said assembled tank approx 100 yards away

Acquire .22 rifle and ammunition. Preferably semi-auto but bolt action is also cool

Shoot said tank 2-5 times.

I have stopped buying Rhinos. I buy Razorbacks because I do not glue the top hatch in place, this allows me to change to any Razorback turret, a whirlwind turret or I can place a Predator turret on top of the Rhino chassis.

Thank you all very much for your words of advice. Also, I now plan following said directions to the T. Can't wait to set this thing on fire! hehe

Predators are hard because it comes with a spanson, but razorbacks and rhinos are basically the same thing.

The rhino sprue comes with the ring-turret mount. All you need is to hop a turret on it to make it into a razorback (add missiles instead, it's a whirlwind). Give it a tank turret and it's a predator. If the door's aren't glue down (the side doors), then, provided you have some means of mounting sponsons, like say via magnets, then you can have a predator with side sponsons. If the front of the tank isn't glued down, grab some plasticard, put a sufficiently sized tube through it, and it makes a vindicator, like I did here:


The rhino chassis is the core of the entire space marine armored component. The top of my tank as well as the front plate are removable, so I can restore this to a rhino at a whim.
