Hello everyone, just wanted to see what everyone thought about what the normal/largest point size armies people will go for in 6th edition. I ask this primarily for the following two reasons:

-The new rules and mechanics of 6th edition making the games potentially last longer.

-And the fact that @ 2000 + point games you can "double" your force organization chart.

Because of this I have a feeling that the new normal point level for games (primarily tournaments) will be around 1750-1850 points, what do you guys think?

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

Yup. I'm already playing around with some 1750 point lists. It's pretty safe to assume it will be 1750. Maaayybe 1850.

It's funny, GW obviously did the double FOC thing just to sell more models...but all they succeeded in doing was making people almost never play 2000+, unless they house rule that out. At least that's the way it is around here.

I'd suspect a few early smaller tournies might go with 1500pts until people get the hang of the new rules. The game definitely reads as slowed down a bit due to multiple additonal steps (pile ins for the CHARGING unit after it charges but before it attacks instead of just a single move, overwatch, wound allocation, etc)... but I don't have any experience actually playing it (let alone being proficient with it) to really tell yet.

I think you will see 1850 emerge as the new black. Also, after playing almost 10 games in 6th ed, it seems to move a lot faster than 5th ed. I have been averaging about one hour for a 1k game, while learning the rules at the same time.

God, I hope 2500 becomes the standard-I want to run a buttload of daemon princes and greater daemons

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
