Looking for some ideas of some good imperial guard foot blobs allies, or would one just stick with a pure foot guard list?

I feel Footguard just got a lot better. We can snapfire, we can shot at 24" and shoot twice with FR1FR2 since the FaQ is just +1 shot with lasguns. Sadly our Leman Russ's got nerfed but we have one fo the best anti-air you can bring and one of the best fliers you can bring. We held up really well, just the Imperial Guardsmen became more important! Cover is the only sad thing, but AoT is still really great for us.

Some Termies though never hurt anyone ;D

Well, IG can cover pretty much every problem - blobs can do close combat, heavy support and heavy weapons can do anti tank and long range firepower, and Valks and Hellhounds can do all the maneuvering you need. A squad or two of Marines as shock troops could be good though, and if they're in drop pods that can put down a unit that will tie your enemy up before they can react to your mobs of Guardsmen.

you could go with tau and use the markerlights from pathfinders and stealth teams to give your shooting a kick.

Choose 1, SoB offers:

Canoness - PE, +1I
Uriah - re-roll on the charge (righteous rage), +1A, FNP
Kyrinov - righteous rage, fearless

If you choose Uriah or Kyrinov, you can take DCA + Crusaders in the same HQ slot.

Space Marines will probably be your best choice, just choose the flavor. I had considered Blood Angels as distraction forces.

Allies exist solely to add cool narratives. They're so poorly balanced that if you're looking to ally to advantage... that doesn't reflect as well on you as you'd hope.

If you insist, though, the best thing to ally with off of the top of my head would be space marines. A captain with a decked out company command squad showing up in a drop pod gives you a lot of options, and having a second drop pod with a tac squad inside wouldn't hurt either.

That or some of the special characters from blood angels or space wolves. As if mephiston wasn't everywhere already...

Only Tau cam use markerlights. Even with Allies none tau cannot use marker tokens as the rule says only Tau or Vespid team leaders can use markers.

I'm considering imperial fists, mostly because the yellow would break up the grey (soon to be green) of my infantry well. But I don't need more 40k. I really dont....

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Sisters of Battle. Take Uriah Jacobus, put him in your meanest blob, get FNP, Ld10, +1A, and to-hit rerolls when you charge.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Just make sure not to take a commissar or you'll have problems.

Well...just as long as you don't fail your stubborn Ld10 leadership

But yeah...

Although if you fail it in CC, it's probably worth losing Jacobus for a re-roll over losing the entire unit to a sweeping advance.

True. I think Kyrinov might be better in this instance though. Wish you could take both as allies.

I think it is probably better to go SOB with IG allies than IG with SOB allies though.

That's probably true, take the blob as a giant anvil for the sisters to operate around, toss in some heavy weapons teams and a squadron of vendettas alongside Seraphim and some mech'd up sisters and exorcists...beautiful.

Platoon or two + HWTs should be good. A vendetta or two. I would say Manticore, if you could take one. The full S thing is awesome.

Take Spacewolves and cast endurance on the TWC and sit back and laugh as a 3+/3++ with rending, feel no pain, relentless and it will not die as well as the hammer of wrath attack and tons of other ability's smash into anything.

I kinda threw up in my mouth a little.....
