So unless I'm reading something wrong, if you're taking Allies of Convenience or Desperation in your army then you better not be trying to deploy via Infiltration or your own allies are going to really limit where you're able to deploy (given that they count as enemy units).

Just thought it was a bit funny...

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

Nice pick-up...

Although within the framework they have created for the Allies system, it kind of makes sense... sort of.

My favorite hit on the Allies of Convenience or Desperation are when marines take Eldar allies for the psychic defense.

The runes of warding also effect the allies, so if a SW player takes Eldrad, then his rune priest is also rolling 3d6 for tests...

Similarly, if scouts choose to redeploy during deployment, they must remain at least 12" away from allies of convenience and desperation.

All Nova powers affect AoC/D. And there are quite a few old psychic powers that do as well, like Null Zone and Tempest's Wrath.
