I have two questions about Eldar Farseers under the new rules, that I'm kinda confused about. I'm quite disappointed in the FAQ and the wording therein, as I'm finding it hasn't answered a few important questions.
1) Do sprit stones increase a Farseer's mastery level? It seems like they do, based off the fact that under Eldrad's entry it says he is "Mastery Level 3 (including the bonus from Spirit Stones)", however it doesn't come right out and say it in the FAQ.
2) If I purchase a psychic power for my Farseer, and I wish to use one of the powers from the BRB, does this power replace the psychic power I purchased or is it in addition to the power? The FAQ says "A Farseer (including Eldrad Ulthran) may use the psychic disciplines found in the Warhammer 40,000, instead of those found in Codex: Eldar. If he does so, for each psychic power he has purchased from Codex: Eldar, generate a new power from either the Divination or Telepathy discipline (in any combination) before armies are deployed. Eldrad Ulthran generates 4 new powers."
To me it sounds like that if I purchase two powers from the codex, I can generate 2 powers from the book, but it doesn't seem to say that they replace the powers I paid for. Some clarification would be much appreciated.

Spirit Stones make the Farseer PM2, and they do indeed replace the powers. You're using the generated powers instead of what you purchased.

As MasterSlowPoke said, you use those powers INSTEAD OF the ones you chose.

1) No it does not make them mastery level 2. It can be assumed that it's an oversight, but nothing states they are except the blurb in the Eldrad blurb shown above. Until they fix it you'll have to houserule it or check with a TO
2) It's a bit of a grey area, but based on the wording it seems to be either all Eldar powers or all Book powers. Also, it could be extremely abused to have guide AND the primaris divination power on eldrad. You could then guide 3 units.

Eldrad can guide/divination guide two units already.

BlueDagger, page 66 tells us that a unit's Psychic Mastery is the number of powers a unit can cast per turn. Spirit Stones therefore increase your Psychic Mastery level by one.
