So, here's what's happening: hanging out with two old friends on Saturday, and they are both eager to play a game of
40k. One has a 1500 point Grey Knight list, and the other hasn't collected warhammer in a few years, so he'll be borrowing my Nurgle Daemons Epidemius list (2k). I'm running a 3k Khorne Daemons, and I'm also loaning my other friend (the
GK guy) enough points of Orks and some old Raven Gaurd
SMs so that he has a 5k list. As you might have figured, friend A is taking on myself and friend B in a large battle...basically a large game of non-chaos vs. daemons.
Problem is, this large of a game seems like it needs more then just your normal game types, since we have such large and varied armies on the board. Any ideas for a large scale, fun, and exciting game that conveyed perhaps a strong narrative feel to it? What types of objectives should I have? What deployment zones would compliment the armies present?
I had some ideas about perhaps starting with the Raven Guard and Orks knocking each other around, when somehow, the massive loss of life tears a hole in space-time, allowing the dual Nurgle-Khorne daemons to spill through, causing the mortals to band together to fight the new and greater threat, then throwing in the Grey Kights somehow... But I really I lost myself there....so I can't see my buddies following along either
lol.
Any help, ideas, or even campaign ideas you guys have would be great.
P.S. I also have 1500 points of Death Gaurd that might be cool to work in there somehow...maybe they start some kind of summoning ritual? I don't know, please help.
