I have a question about Runes of Warding and Allies.

The Eldar codex states that all enemy psykers are affected and the BRB states that Allies of Convenience are treated as enemy units, that can't be targeted by shooting or powers. Would that mean that an Eldar army picking Allies of Convenience/Desperate Allies will force them to take Runes of Warding psychic tests?

And what about the reverse situation of an army taking Eldar as Allies of Convenience/Desperate Allies?

Yes, AoC and Deperate Allies would be forced the RoW save if they take a farseer with it or are taken by an Eldar force with them.

Hmm. That would definitely suck. Especially now that there is no way to prevent perils of the warp.

Well, there goes all the effort of crafting a backstory and a list, that would tie my IG regiment with some Eldar allies. Gues it's off to the Space Pups for psychic defence. Now to see what I can salvage from my original background to make it make some sense if i decide to take the puppies. Otherwiese it s back to basics (more Lemans)

That's also kind of bad for Eldar, since RoW would have probably been the biggest selling point for taking them as allies. There's not much in their codex that isn't found better and cheaper somewhere else.
