So before I was lured away by the new necron codex I had a lot of fun and success with my foot elder. With the inclusion of allied rules I immediately wanted to do an Eldar/ Dark Eldar mix. So I used to run multiple guardian squads for the scatter lasers but I replaced them with a 20 man Kabalite warrior squad with Splinter cannons, the Homunculus joins them giving them FnP and plinking away at big things all game. More durable and deadly than the Guardian squads they are replacing.

The other change is that instead of harlequins I have a large beast pack. Paired with fortune there is a lot of 4++ saves in there and they should be quite sturdy as a counter attack unit. I’m still not sure as to the unit composition for the pack so if anyone has any input to that matter it would really help.

Wraithlords are kitted out to punish tanks but with the nerf to missiles I pondered the sword but can’t justify 10 points to reroll only two attacks. So the missiles stayed.

Also picked up the strategic warlord tree for Eldrad, I’m hoping to get -1 to reserves as it will keep fliers at bay longer but there are several other good options in there as well. As far as powers go Guide and Eldritch Storm will be swapped out for Divination tree and Mind War will be swapped out for Telepathy tree.

I will be play testing this tonight against a Bike heavy Ultra Marine list and will post up the results.

All questions and comments appreciated. This is my first experience with Dark Eldar so if I have made any major mistakes please point them out, my knowledge is limited and I welcome any and all advice.

One of my concerns is that you have a lot of points invested in a non-fearless LD 8 squad with T3 and no armour save against most shooting. You might want to break that up a bit.

For same points of allies and without completely tearing up what you are trying to do, you can do:

Haemonculus w/ Hexrifle & Venom Blade (I like the liquifier gun better but I understand why you took the hexrifle).

Kabalite Warriors x 10 w/ Splinter Cannon

Kabalite Trueborn x 5 w/ 2 Splinter Cannons

luckily all the Eldar are Fearless within 12" of the Avatar. I'll have to reread the ability to see if it states friendly units or simply craftworld eldar units.

Thanks for the help too, and more splinter cannons are never a bad thing of all the toys DE get I like the splinter cannon the best.

Your beasts unit isn't legal.

for each beast master you can take 'one of'
0-2 razorwing
0-5 khymera

so you can do 4 razorwing and 5 khymera for 156

5 warriors with a blaster in a venom with extra splinter cannon is 125 points and would probably perform better than 2 splinter cannons on the ground in a big unit of warriors.
(i know you're going footy, but, it's worth saying anyway)

The way the rules in 6t seems to be intended is for battle brothers to benefit from eachothers auras/ effect/ psychic powers. But the codex reads slightly different stating "eldar" units. But the way I interpret the rule book (which may be wrong) is that all battle brothers are treated as friendly units. And what are friendly units? Units that are from your codex. So the way I will play until I see it FAQ'd is that the avatar can give fearless to its battle brothers.

That makes sense and seems to be a reasonable interpretation of the rule. Had my first game with the list as written in the OP. Played a 3 Rifle Man Dred and TFC list. The list did alright although I've tweaked things a little.

The main change is reducing the 20 man Kabalite Warrior group and including a 3 man Jetbike unit. The 20 man unit was hard to find cover for and the extra bodies were too costly and fragile for the single splinter cannon. Also now that Jetbikes are so incredibly fast having a small objective grabbing unit will be very helpful and add some much needed mobility.

Have 48pts spare in the second list could make a bigger beast pack or pick up a warlock although the warlock doesn't add anything to the squad and is quite expensive.

I would take a shuriken cannon with the jetbikes. I also would personally rather swap out the 2 units of guardians for 2 more units of 3 jetbikes. Guardians arent going to put out much firepower and with lower cover saves everywhere they arent even great at holding your table halves objective. for 95 points you could fit a 5 man squad of rangers instead.

Eek...shredders? I probably wouldn't try to run it. I would probably try to find some room for Baron Sathonyx over the haemonculus. He makes the beastmasters really scary.

I've been thinking about how I would take dark eldar as allies if i were eldar

At a minimum:
Haemy w/liquifier 60
3 wraks in venom w/2nd splinter cannon 95
Ravager 105

A bargain at 260 points
