From my observations, appearently the mark of tzeench only provides a bonus to invul and nothing else, since you need to expend warp charges to use powers.

This also breaks aspiring sorcerers, who are required to pay for a power they cannot use, as the FAQ didn't give them a mastery level.

Or am I wrong?

How many psychic powers can aspiring sorcerer's cast per turn? That is their Mastery level.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Mark of Tzeentch lets you use two powers.

Aspiring Sorcerors (and everything with the Mark of Tzeentch that's a sorceror) are Mastery Level 2.

Change and change until Change is our master, for nothing neither God nor mortal can hold that which has no form. Change is the constant that cannot be changed.

That is for Chaos Daemons. CHaos Space Marines just get an Invulnerable save.

No. Sorcerers with the Mark of Tzeentch get to use 2 powers in addition to the invulnerable save. It's at the top of the Chaos Psychic Powers page.

Anyway, the rulebook itself tells you that if you aren't told the mastery level then your mastery level is either 1 or, if you have a special rule allowing you to use more powers equal to the number of powers you may use. The FAQ doesn't assign an Aspiring Sorcerer a Mastery Level, so the Rulebook assigns him one equal to the powers he can use, which is two. He'll only generate one power though, as the FAQ does tell us that models in Codex: Chaos Space Marines generate as many powers as they buy and an Aspiring Sorcerer can only buy one.

My bad. Apologies. Statement redacted.

So this simply allows the Aspiring Sorc to potentially have a power that requires 2 charges correct?

The fact that they are listed at 1 does not preclude their being upgraded.

Also, they have force weapons, allowing them to use a power plus activate the force weapon in the same player turn.

So they are all mastery level 1 with the ability to use two powers? But this only answers half the question, since the mark allows the usage of 2 powers, but you will have to expend a warp charge token to do so, as per the rulebook. Without another warp charge, it can't happen.

No, Mastery 2, with access to only 1 power.

Mastery level is based on the number of powers you can use, not the number you know.

Discipline exchange is a 1-for-1 on powers you know from the codex(Asp Sorcerers may only purchase 1 power, but can cast 2).

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

I must be missing something, where does it say the usage of x powers provides x mastery level?

BRB p. 66:
Mastery Level may be written out longhand in the form of a special rule that allows the Psyker to use more than one psychic power each turn- the number of powers that can be used per turn is their Mastery Level
