Subject: Sword, Axe, Fists (Rock, Paper, Scissors) What are you going to use?

Power Fists. For me I think in cases where I would normally use one power fist I would either double up if I could, (so I don't lose an attack) or drop some points and go commando. Having one big crab arm is no longer an option.
Swords may be dead. I think the biggest point of using a power sword was to be able to crack that 2+ save on a can of spam. I would rather save the points to grab a Missile Launcher so I can get a few shots in on it while it charges at me from across the field. Regular melee weapons are looking great in comparison.
Power Axe... It is a power fist without the 2x strength bonus. I'm gonna greenstuff some squares onto the ends of all the swords I have if I even decide to fight in close combat at all. The real melee now begins at initiative 1 or from 48" away.
Now choosing a melee weapon is going to be like Rock, Paper, Scissors. If I take a sword I will attack first but might get blocked by armor. If I grab fist/s I can still bash a tank and fight great in CC if I double up my fist cost. If I grab an axe I have better odds against a single fist and I can deal with spam in a can if I don't get cut down by a normal CC wep since it's first in first down and a chance for my double fisting smash king to get dropped by a good Overwatch on the way in.
Is anything other than Vanilla CC and HQ CC not meant to be used anymore? With these rules piecing up a good melee squad is not worth it. I believe all we are going to be seeing are a thick line of Terminators Squads trolling around dominating everything.
Now that I am done ranting I am going to start painting Lascannons. Lascannons for everyone. I would take a Psyker if all it could do is turn all my power weapons into Lascannons.

My Valhallan powerblobs were already going to see a few axes; now that they've actually got rules I might as well take em! My Crimson Fists will continue to use power fists, as per their name.

Power Swords, whenever i get around to modeling them.
Use them in challenges and wipe out and Fist/Klaw sergeants.

Well, if you read the Specialist Weapon rule, in order for a model to get +1 for 2 ccw, both weapons need to be the have this rule.
So you can grab a LC and a Chainfist/PF/TH (all the same really except for like 4 situations) and use the LC for MEQ and below and use the PF for anything tougher.

Fixed it for you. The real answer is "none".
Power axes let someone be picked off by a power sword before they even get a chance to swing. Power fists are better than axes (with the much better S bonus), except that they're still able to be horribly stabbed before they get a swing in. Power lances are rubbish, and power maces aren't real power weapons, being a laughable Ap4.
The sword is still the best, but it got a lot worse - not just because of the Ap loss, but because assault itself got a lot worse. If you've got a fast attacker (at least I4, but really I5 plus), then a power weapon is still worth taking, and if you've got a serious save and 3 wounds or so, then a fist can still be useful. Otherwise, honestly, don't bother anymore.
