I am trying to make an non canon chaos legion, I have read back storry of many but I did not found them well adequte for me, so I've decided to create my own renegade chapter/legion which damages lore, I know I am bad person I am sorry for that.

Ok then.
They are called Enlighten Legion or Legion of Enlightenment.
They are dedicated to chaos undivided. They has separated from black legion.
Colourl scheme: white, black, brass.
Ultimate goals: destruction of golden throne, merging Immaterium with realspace, destruction of black legion.

Fighting doctrine: manipulations, brain washing and silent corruption of key targets, minimal use of demonic foces.
Battle cries: For the emperor. Death to false Emperor. Let the chaos unite us.
Badge:
Chapter master: Nihilius undying/ seducer/ immortal/the forked tongue
A sorceror and power full chaos lord, which recived blessings from all chaos gods. From tztench he get an flying disk. From Slanesh new body. From nurgle bile launcher (it works as any weapon avaible for chaos lord, but it only works as only single type durning fight.) From Khorne demonic axe. All greater commanders within legion, are mindless, humans which fully are devoted to the Nihilus as he know there might be someone like him, who will break out.

Some back story: One of aspiring champoins of Black legion has heard whispers of Malal. Malal has convicted champion that there are no chaos gods, there is only one true emperor living within immaterium, and emperor which sits on a golden throne is only impostor.

They are tryining to join as much they can followers, no matter are they humans, or xeno.
They are using vast amount of xeno technology, and new imperial technologies. Thus it's normal sight seeing renegade guardsmen with tau or dark eldar weaponry.
It is unknown where is their home-world most probably it's one of 3 worlds where main fleet residents.


I don't have to much dosh for this hobby so I'llbe getting anything new very slowly, most of what do I have now, was bought on carboot.

what I am planing to get
chaos raptors 1 team
chaos termintaros 1 or 2 teams
some sisters of battle and mix them with normal chaos space marines
oblitorators IDK how much
Berserkers
Noise marines

Sslynth's body for my champion

ok I am opend for feedback an opinions, when I'll get to home I will improve this list.

What else I should know before doing custom chaos chapter?

Hello. First off, if you're looking to build an army list it would probably have been best to post this in the 40k army list sub forum first and then once you had got an idea for the army and some models started a thread in P&M, but no biggy.

The first thing that we need to know before we can help you further is how big would you like the army to be pointswise? So we can make a comprehensive plan of your army so we know exactly what you need to get, I know you already have a plan but it's normally better to work out exactly how many points you'd like to be first.

The total amount of points may be problematic as I have now only 3rd edition codex and I'll not get 6th one too soon, also I am interested in a things like blight drone, and some renegade militia.

Nah it's fine. Now that we're here it's not an issue. I probably wouldn't get the Chaos Codex just yet, as the new one is rumoured to be coming out within the next year. How about we start at about 1,500? I'll post a list idea up in a second. Hang on.

It is rumored that Chaos Marines would be in the starter box for 6th ed, so a new codex might not be far away. Better put off buying fancy stuff first and focus on basic ones like troops. The new codex might make some choices awesome and some not, so hold your horses first and practice on your figs.

I have heard that too, so I am waiting.

I was planning to get an assault on black reach until I've heard about new editions.

True, I forgot about that. I'm pretty certain that that rumour is correct, given the Dark Angels in the starter paint set and the Dark Angels vs Chaos Marines as the artwork for the front of the rulebook. But I have finished a list. It's not the most competitive thing in the world but it's a good mix of units so should be fun, and fits into what you wanted to buy, with the rest being able to fit in at larger points levels.

Does the chaos lord has to be in terminator armour? I had different plans for him.

I wanted to give him a lower body of sslynth, and magnetise his hands, so I could swap weapons, and use him sometimes as chaos lord and sometimes as sorcerer. and why mark of nurgle?

And I thought that chaos space marines cannot use mealta weapons.

Does the official rules support using CSM and Renegates simultaneously?

Nope, of course not. It's your list change it however you like. I simply put him in Terminator armour to make it look like, as a more senior character, he had access to better equipment, also it's not bad pointswise as you get the Daemon Weapon for cheaper, and he can go with the Terminators who you could say are his personal retinue, but feel free to change anything however you'd like.

Sounds like a cool idea, if you haven't got any magnets yet I know that Wargames Emporium in orchard square sells them, I went for mark of Nurgle because I saw that you wanted the Lord to have something to do with Khorne and Nurgle and I just prefer Nurgle generally for the durability, although, as I say, it's not set in stone.

I'm not a Chaos Space Marine player, just play against them a lot, and so don't have the codex. However, my army list writing software states that they can take Meltaguns, I also know that Chosen can all take Meltaguns so it would surprise me if you couldn't take meltaguns.

In the current Chaos Space Marine codex, it does not support renegades, at the minute it's just Marines and a few odd daemony bits thrown in. However, this looks like it will change in the next codex. If you want, for the interim I believe that there are a few lost and the damned fandexes that you could use until the new codex comes out.
