Got My Rulebook!!! Broke that baby open last night and tried to absorb as much as possible.

My question is should the changed rules to psychic hoods be applied to my SW runic staff? I checked the FAQ twice and nothing.

Psychic hoods now permit a better Deny the Witch save for any unit targeted that is within six inches of the hood. Runic staffs on the other hand have specific rules that allow the controlling player to nullify all opposing psychic powers cast within 24 inches on a 4+ (as well as other benefits against demons).

So which rules for runic staffs apply? Also, can a targeted unit attempt to Deny the Witch after the rune priest fails to nullify the power?

Btw I hate this deny the witch stuff but that is convo for another time.

Thanks in advance.

I have a love /hate relationship with anything green.

no. No it should not.

The Runic weapon's rules are Unique to it, slightly altered but kept in the FAQ, and very Clear.

You get one 4+ to cancel the Power within range of any runic weapons.

You then get to deny the witch if the power made it through the Runic weapon.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Deny the Witch can only be used if an enemy targets a model, not "any unit targeted".

You can buff your squad when that squad is within 6" from Mephiston and he can't do a thing.

Its better than that. If he flubs the 4+, he can still (assuming you are targetted by something) do a deny the Witch roll and also use the talisman save on top of that. Basically, forget about using psychic powers that target SW.

Exactly this. It is now possible to get 3 different attempts ot nullify offensive psychic powers with SW.

Actually 4 if you have Runic Armour (5+ invul save).
