Trying to decide which allies to add to my Suit heavy tau list. Was thinking of doing either Taudar (Tau & Eldar) to bring in some psyker support or Tau-Wolf (Space wolves) to get some heavy assault/melee support. Any protips/opinions on what would be best?

Depends on your list and playstyle.

Orks and IG could provide a nice meat shield.

Blood Angels, Grey Knights, and other marines can bring the heat in CC.

I was allied in a game last night with Necrons and won against a full ork list. It was a little touch and go for a bit with the overall horde power of the Green Tide, but the Tau and Necron rapid fire won the day.

Orks ftw. You can get a proper meatshield and make your kroot hang their heads in shame.

with all the fancy new psyker powers, some of which are very powerful, my money is on the farseer with a rune of warding. The best piece of wargear at shutting down psykers in the game. sprinkle in some eldar rangers for troops and they have a few options for an elite melee unit to help protect your backfield, scorpians maybe?

Im definitely going to be trying out some GK terminators with my tau, as they are grey knight troops. They are shooty (psycannon) as well as combat monsters. Combine that with a cheap inquisitor HQ choice and youve got a decent combat squad without spending too many points.

Man, I'm a little ashamed I hadn't thought of GK. Those termy troops are a solid idea. Think I'll give that a try first, but I think I'm also going to build out a small elder force to play with. Always good to have options.
