So we all know that Necrons have gained in power, especially against vehicles, since their best melee weapon is AP1 and their Gauss rule now has the potential to wipe vehicles from existence rather quickly. However, to of the more... lackluster units in the codex, the C'tan Shard and the Triarch Praetorians, seem to have gotten a bit of a boost.
Praetorians:
-Hammer of Wrath hits at I10. Huge bonus for I2 Necrons.
-Weapon is +1S and AP2, though Unwieldy. Not that Unwieldy mattered, Necrons hit last 90% of the time anyway, but the Power Axe profile is sweet.
-Jump Infantry now now have the capacity to give the Triarch Praetorians a 24" charge (movement+charge) on a very good day.
-Now a better reason to take a Destroyer Lord.
-Also, now S7 with Furious Charge
C'tan Shards are a bit more of a mixed bag:
-Smash is nice, 2 S10 attacks is never a bad thing.
-Hammer of Wraith at I10 and S7? Sure.
-Fear is really good for the C'tan, allowing the to perhaps not get hit in CC. Too bad is doesn't count for anything in the Shooting Phase.
-Still slow as the dickens.
-Still only a 4+ Invuln save for well over 185 points.
-Relentless is pointless on this guy, because his shooting powers are Assault anyway.
-Even worse, now he can't assault after coming out of a Monolith Dimensional Corridor.
I took C'tan and Praetorians before, but now I think I'll take more Praetorians. C'tan are simply too slow, and like the Talos Pain Engines will die to massed fire from anything other than Lasguns.

Re-rolling doesn't give a 24" charge. If you move 12" they can't reroll the charge, its move 12" and normal charge, or move 6" and reroll charge.

Man, life is great when you read things thoroughly...
Still, charging is 2D6, so you can get a 24" charge if you're lucky.

SOrry but I am confused how is there weapon AP2 and unwieldly it is the Rod of the Covenant makeing it a staff right so it would be a power maul AP4 right or are we counting it as a haberd because it has the plake looking thing on it? Honest question wanted to know for sure.
