Hey Guys! So i've read the rulebook and most of the FAQs now - still struggling on a few points which I hope the good people of Dakka can help me out with!

1) Eldrad - can I mix and match powers from the new book and the eldar codex, or does it have to be all or nothing?

2) If I have a Skyfire Weapon (hydra autocannons for example), can I use their twin-linked ability on ground targets when I snap fire?

3) If I have veterans in a vendetta, is there any way I can deploy them via grav chute insertion without going into Hover mode?

4) Can a unit of Grey knights activate force weapons to Deny FNP to a unit that does not consist of multiple wounds (say Plague marines?)

5) A Jump Infantry unit can Either move 12" in the movement phase and assault 2D6 in the assault phase, OR move as normal, and then assault 2D6 with a reroll? Is this correct?

6) Am I now prohibited from assaulting if I disembark from a non-assault/open-topped vehicle that turn? Even if said vehicle was stationary?

7) Do skyfire weapons get to target skimmers at normal Ballistic Skill?

8) In terms of power weapons, is it literally what ive just decided to model my guy with? For example, I have an assault marine who has a scythe - this would probably count as an axe?

9) If I am armed with 2 weapons with the specialist rule, do they need to be the SAME weapon for me to claim +1A?

Thats all I can think of for now - i'm sure there will be more!

1) All or Nothing.
2) Of course, why wouldn't you be able to? The only thing Snap Shot does here is make you fire at BS1.
3) Don't know. All signs point to no.
4) No reason why not.
5) That's correct.
6) Correct, unless your vehicle is an assault vehicle you can't disembark and assault.
7) Yes, Skimmers are on the list.
8) Yes, if your option is to buy a "power weapon" which one you actually buy is dependent on the model.
9) No, they just have to both be specialist weapons.

Any advance on the above post? More questions:

10) What sort of power weapons are Glaive Encarmines? Unusual? Or as Modelled? (i.e. Axes and Swords?)

Most/all of those can be answered by reading the rulebook, which you apparently have.

Unnessesarily extravegant word of the week award goes to jcress410 for this:

Wow what a helpful answer - yes I do have the book, but sorry that my grasp of some of the new rules isnt as clear to me as it apparantly is to you.

Here is a question from the FAQ Tyranids. It states that we cannot manualy fire emplacement guns, although I have no idea why.

In the same question it states that we do not check for instinct behavior tets.

Does that mean they do not have zynapse inside buildings? Or does this question refer to units that are only inside buildings but not in synapse? If that is the case then should not tyranids be abel to fire emplacement weapons outside of buildings (if there are some, I do not remember.)

Glaive Encarmines are as modelled. They do not have any rules that are specific to them so they do not count as unusual weapons.

Thats quite good about encarmines - gives you the option of what you want to use.

Grav Chute Insertion can be used whenever the model moves Flat Out. Zooming Flyers have the option to move Flat Out in the Shooting Phase just like other vehicles, so there is no need to enter Hover mode.

Ahhh ok, so say I deployed them in this way and I didnt mishap - can I then shoot the veterans as normal?

The problem we have here, is that Flat out is now done during the shooting phase. The only time you are allowed to voluntarily disembark is during the movement phase.

The general rule is that you can only disembark during the movement phase. The specific rule per grav chute insertion is that you can disembark after moving flat out.

But, the veterans embarked have now chosen to make an additional move in the shooting phase, therefore are not allowed to shoot. Is there any rule that allows a unit that has moved in the shooting phase to still shoot that applies here?
