Subject: Yet another Dakkajet tread - Sleds are for squigbrains

So I've been working on two new jets for da boyz and I wanted to do something fancy. I don't remember seeing any Dakkajets so far with proper landing gear (I'm probably wrong) so here's what I threw together:
And this is the shoota config I'll probably go with. The long barrels really look sweet in multiples, I think.
The other aircraft will be built primarily as a Blitza-Bommer, but magnetized so it can be turned into a second Dakkajet. It's not terribly important for a Bommer to land safely after it's dropped its payload, so this one doesn't get wheels, but at least I have doubled up the sleds.
What do you think, sirs?

Nice use of spare bits for the sled landing gear.

Don't they just crash into the enemy when they are out of gas/ammo? Landing gear seems a luxury that could instead be used for more dakka!
That aside, looks nice!

I can totally see an ork 'volunteering' a grot into piloting a flying bomb which can't land, but I think even the most crazed ork pilot would want to be able to land, if only to refuel and re-arm and do it all over again.
Hmm, I wonder how silly an ork plane would look with trukk wheels Any other creative ideas for landing gear?

Those look great. If I'd had the spare "Big Shoota" barrels, that's exactly what I'd have done. I love the undercarriage, but would like to ask what you made your hubs from?
(As I may well nick your idea for later use.)
The double skids and sprue is also a great idea. I am really looking forward to seeing pictures of your squadron with some paint on them.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars."
