Please join us every Monday and Tuesday Night, August 6th through September 25th for Iosis - a Warhammer 40,000 Campaign!
Event/Campaign Fee is $5.00 per person!
Iosis is a planet not unlike Terra, the resources are plentiful and the planet holds unimaginable riches. But the Warp is slowly corrupting it. Pieces of solidified Chaos matter can be found scattered amongst the planet’s surface. The Imperium Scholars call them Warpstones, and believe they can harness the power of these stones to create weapons that will assist them against their enemies. The other races learned of the plans of the Imperium to gather these Warpstones, and now want them for themselves.
Around Iosis cries of battle are heard. Amongst these battles are heroes, lords, and champions leading the assault against each other. Great warriors move up in rank quickly, and where their leaders have failed, they will prevail. One general will reign supreme. One champion will win the war.
Each player will choose one character that will lead his or her forces to victory. The character you choose to lead your army will be a headquarters choice, but not a named one. No named characters will be allowed in this Campaign. You will use this character, which will be known as your General, the whole Campaign. All of his or her upgrades and equipment will be annotated on special character sheets generated for this Campaign, and kept in a special binder held by the Campaign Organizer (CO). The General you choose, including their gear and special rules, will never change and will be used in all of your missions.
There are three charts for your General. One is a “Crippled” chart, and the other is a “Heroic” chart, and the third is an upgrade chart. When your General dies during a mission, roll on the “Crippled” chart at the end of the mission, and apply that result. These results are permanent until they can be removed. If your General destroys another Independent Character or Monstrous Creature, then after the mission is finished, roll on the “Heroic” chart. The Independent Character or Monstrous Creature must be killed by the General himself by either the final wound being caused by a melee attack or ranged attack, and not from overrunning or the rest of the unit. The bonuses from the “Heroic” list lasts only for the next mission. When you have enough points, you may purchase upgrades for your General. All of these bonuses and penalties will be annotated on your General’s character sheet.
Each player will be awarded Warpstone points throughout the Campaign after missions. These points will be used in upgrading one unit from your Troops section into Veterans. These Veterans can be taken any time you play a game, and never lose their upgrades and never cost more than their original cost in each codex, even if the whole unit dies or runs off the table. These upgrades are just bonuses, and no bonus can be purchased more than once. No bonus can be taken twice. The Veteran chart can be found on the next page. You can only have one Veteran Unit.
When you are going to play a Campaign game, you will find an opponent you want to play, and both of you will come to the CO for a special mission designed just for the two of you. On it will include the mission statement, rules for set-up and how to win, and the points each of you will play. After the mission is complete, both players will complete the bottom of the mission statement sheet and turn it into the CO.
Campaign games will be played on Mondays and Tuesdays only. This is when the CO is in and can assist in the Campaign with rules and missions. The Campaign Organizer will not be in any other part of the week, so campaign games cannot be played on any other nights.
The overall Campaign winner will be determined by win results, and if there is a tie for the Campaign winner, then the one with the most Warpstone Points accrued. If there is still a tie, then the players will face off in a “General Deathmatch”.
Now for the rules.
These rules are for the sole purpose to keep everyone on the same page, to make sure no one takes any shortcuts during this Campaign, and so everyone has fun.
1. If you don’t fill out a character sheet provided for you by the CO and turn it in to the CO, you will automatically lose any mission you play until you do so.
2. If you fail to fully fill out the bottom of the mission statement sheet, you will lose your game automatically.
3. If you are caught cheating, you will lose automatically and be banned from further Warhammer campaigns, leagues, and tournaments
4. Only the newest Codices and Main rulebook will be used.
