Anyone from Dakka Play GA?

I played it from the launch but stopped after i hit 50 because im from Australia we got hit with some terrible lag it makes it near unplayable for me. What is such a shame i really really love the game.

I use to play, it's a good time. No real reason I stopped except there was other stuff that drew my attention.

I loved the game for the first several hours. It played kind of like an MMO and reminded me of Tabula Rasa. After that, it just turned into a (bad) Tribes clone.

Maybe its time i got into Tribes now, I had a go of the beta and it did have a good feel to it, i liked Tribes: Vengeance but didn't play any of the others.

Vengeance is much slower.

From my brief Beta test of the new Tribes it did feel much more smooth and fast paced compared to Vengeance.

It really isnt too bad, just when you run against a team where everyone is spamming SMG nonsense it gets obnoxious, the game is balanced for 7v7 or so, once the team gets too large the little pecking away of smg fire gets to be way too much.
I run jugg, no "extra" gear, and its pretty rare i'm not top 1-3.

the one thing I do miss is the old 80+ person servers of tribes2, I hadn't played veng at all

Its basically a T2 clone, but now there are reasons to play mid in armor that isn't light. Perhaps too many. Heavies seem hugely overpowered to me.

Because all they are really good for is disruption in ctf, thats it, there are other roles that other classes fill.

Well, disruption, base destruction, and quite honestly dueling because it takes 4 shots from a light disc (and 3 from a standard) to kill a fully upgraded Jugg (with the health regen pack its even worse). And once you learn to place your mortars its not even fair, unless you're dueling a Brute that can aim.

I say this weeping of course, because I was a former T2 light mid (disc, plasma, grenade), and I miss those duels.
