Just want to be sure i am reading it correctly. I am understanding that there is no additional point cost for a power/force staff, axe or maul compared to a sword. is that it? all i have to do is model it and i can use the rules? I just want to be sure. Last thing i want to do is upset some sweaty beardo at the next league night.
Thanks.

As of right now, correct.

So long as it says X model may buy a Power Weapon it is up to you for how you wish to model it.

I don't think you can just model whatever you want. The model would still have to be able to take the wargear you want it to use.

I have found again and again that in encounter actions, the day goes to the side that is the first to plaster its opponent with fire. The man who lies low and awaits developments usually comes off second best. - Erwin Rommel

Thanks for the answers, yeah I'm not trying to model a bunch of tac marines with power knives are anything, i meant in the context of models that purchase a power weapon as wargear, i.e. sergeants, IC s etc.

That's the point I was getting across, right now if a model can buy a power weapon it is up to you how you want it to be, a sword, axe or mace.

Yep if you spend the 15pts to get a power weapon it is up to you to model which one from the rulebook you want to use. My poor aspiring sorcerers now all have force staves
