Ok I understand the primary detachment thing I just want to clarify the FOC at 2k. It states you can take another primary detachment... this increases the amount of slots available. Just want to make sure I am understanding this properly. I am assuming this is what it would have to look like in order to unlock the extra slots...

Example:

Primary Detachment 1 - Commander and 2 tactical squads.

In order to unlock the increased amounts I would have to take...

Primary Detachment 2 - Librarian and 2 scout squads.

Taking this second detachment unlocks the 6 slot elites, fast attack and heavy support?

Curious myself on how people would play this.

Do you need to reach 2000 points with your first FOC before you can unlock the second FOC or can you combine both to have 2000 points?

In case number one, it would require someone to abide by the 3 elites, fast etc before possibly double up at higher than more.

In case number two, someone could get 2 HQs, 4 troops and then 6 land raiders for 1500 points possily easilly staying right at 2000... or a gak ton of leman russ as I know someone that would likely do that.

At 2000 point game size, you can take two. All minimum requirements must be met for each detachment. Other than that, you gain access to a total of:

4 HQ
6 Elite
12 Troops
6 Fast Attack
6 Heavy Support

Aside from playing a minimum 2k point game, there is no other requirements. You do not need to fill any slots except the minimum requirement.

As an added note, you get 1 fortification and 1 allies detachment for each Primary Detachment.

Ok so then two primary detachments means the required would be 2 HQs and 4 Troops in order to unlock the rest expanded FOC... got it. That could be absolutely nasty some of the combinations you could come up with. I think our gaming group will be sticking with the standard force organization.

Well, technically having access to 2 primary detachments is the standard force orginazation now. For 2000 and up anyway...
