Space wolf question.

Thunderwolf Mount specifies that a model with this wargear, "...may only join Thunderwolf Calvary or Fenrisian Wolves units..." (SW Codex, pg. 62)

The Thunderwolf Unit entry, pg. 90 and 34, places no restriction on any characters joining the unit.

By that reasoning, can an IC on foot (or bike or jump pack even) join a TWC unit? An IC on TWM can has restrictions on the units he can join, but it the TWC unit has a restriction on the IC.

You could but it would slow the unit down to speed of the footslogger.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

@Happyjew: Not really. TWC can move as fast it can as long as 2" conherency is still there. This is different from 5th edition. See Page 10, under "Different Movement Distances within a unit".

So technically, he can congaline assault with the TWC while having the IC there for buff purpose.

An IC with a Jump Pack would do nicely as well.

Or you have a Wolf Priest with Saga of the Hunter attached and Outflank them all. The footslogger doesn't slow them down as badly, since the unit just have to keep coherency and doesn't have to move at the slowest speed. Or, using an IC with jump pack or bike gives you flexibility, since they could leave the TWC unit and join any unit - whereas an IC on TWM can only join TWC or wolves.
