I just got back into the game after a hiatus since 6th has come out. I am slightly familiar with the new rules and just need help getting back in the mix. I want to know what Kind of army some of you would build and what to buy to fix a few gaps. I am more casual than competitive but I still like to win. Below is a list of what models I have and I just would like to know what you guys would do with it. I would prefer to keep Commissar Yarrick and my Ogryn in the Chimera because they are my favorite and this week they crushed an entire Sanguinary Guard and a 5 man Death company. NO allies Please Also I want to know why so many people are switching to Plasma over Melta? So here is what I have.

So that's it. Just looking for some well roundness. Trying to not spend more than $100USD to improve it at this time. Please give feed back and put a list together of what I have and what you would add. That would be much appreciated.

Hi as a rough list i would go with something like this: * i normaly play infantry only and am doing this from work without codex for points ect but hopefully should genreate some debate.

Elite:

Strom Trooper Squad with 2 plasma
Seargent with plamsa pistol- dont think the 10 point power weapon is worth it when its only got bodies along with it.
4 Ogryn - 1 Bone'd- Never used Ogryn as i find them a huge point sink as terminators they are not but cost as much. As you have them though i would suggest using them as a counter assult to stuff that will eat you back lines once they get there.

Fast:
Vendetta - You can use some of your other lascannons to make this up into the three lascannoned version as they arent in the box. It is much much better than the Valkyrie as now transporting troops in them is prity much a death sentance.
Scout Sentinal with lascannon and hunter killer missle, if you can make the armoured one into a scout.

Infantry platoon:
Infantry sqaud - Autocannon- GL, ccw, lp

Fortification:
Agis defance line with quad gun, get a decent cover save for most of your platoon sitting in your home objectives and get to shoot at any reserves coming in and takeing any flyers at normal bs.


To purcahse:
I would not buy the heavy weapon box just get some missle laucnhers from ebay or a bits store.
