As far as I understand it, the following applies:
Same Saves: Unit takes saving throws, wounds are allocated to 'closest models', casualties are removed.
Mixed Saves: Wounds are allocated to 'closest models', specific models take saving throws, casualties are removed.
Going off of the above info (hoping the above 'outlines' are correct), my question is:
'Mixed Wounds' (page 15): Does the firing unit choose the order of different weapon resolution during the 'Take Saving Throws' step of this process?
Edit: Bonus(?) Question
A Terminators unit (all with 2+/5++ saves, out in the open) is wounded by a unit with 'mixed wound weapons', two wounds AP4 and two wounds AP2. Is the Terminator unit a 'same save' or 'mixed save' unit since the saves the unit takes vary depending on the wound assignment?

The shooting side determines what order the wound groups are resoved. So I shoot and say
plasma
bolters
flamer
Or whatever.
The termies all have the same save. If 2 had stormshields, then for this they would have mixed saves.

Gotcha on the wound groups, that totally makes sense!
So in the Terminator example, they're a 'same save' unit even though they would be rolling different saves (two 2+ saves for the AP4 and two 5++ saves for the AP 2)?

Yes, because all armor saves are the same, and all invulnerable saves are the same. It wouldn't matter who took the save, all have an equal chance of surviving.

So profiles and wargear determine whether the unit is a 'same' or 'mixed' save unit , not the rolls they actually have to make? Okay, thanks for the help.

Almost. It is just the saves they roll that matter if they have the same save.
They all roll the same save against the AP4 and they all roll the same save against the AP2.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but on a related note:
What happens if you use a flamer/blast weapon and wound (as an example) an independant character (Which is technically a separate unit), and three of the unit's normal models.
I.e. A unit of tactical marines, and a chaplain.

An IC is not technicaly a separate unit. Not any longer. (and never was, in 5th - just in combat)

Hmmm, I dispute that: It can be on it's own. In fact, it's bought as a separate unit too.

When attached to a unit an independent character is counted as part of the unit for all rules purposes, though he still follows the rules for characters.

While an IC is joined to a unit it counts as a normal member of that unit for all purposes except where noted (i.e. VPs and determining 50% reserves).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Ah, ok. So the wounds are just inflicted on whomever is in front, as normal.
Thanks
