A while back I remember hearing about these boxes containing a transport and squad but they never turned up in stores.
However, I just found one on ebay.

I don't believe a lot of stores picked them up. Between the two stores I frequent, I have only seen two, and they are still there...

I only frequent one GW store and they didn't have any. I don't recall seeing them on the website either.

Either maelstrom or wayland had a 'tactical squad and drop pod' for a while.

That's the point. All the places I have heard about them being are GW retailers, not GW stores or the website and I was wondering why that was.

It was a deal offered specifically to independant stores. None of them were sold through GW stores or on the GW website. Why? No idea, but that's how it was.

My FLGS had two of each set when they were released and sold them pretty quickly.

I was told it they were limited items and only vended through independent retailers.

I've seen them at my FLGS, they are great sets. You can save a fair bit, I cannot help feeling that tactical Squad and Drop pod, is poor compared to Tactical Squad with Rhino/RB. I wish this would become a Core line of products, because (well in 5th anyway) we all liked our Mechanised Infantry, and IG and SM army's tended to have Rhino's and CHimera's galore. Anything that offers better value for money, gets a thumbs up from me.

They were actually sold through the GW website and stores.

They were splash release items, available only for a small period of time surrounding the release of (I want to say) 4th edition.

Well, my store has the Cadians + Chimera!

Also has Boyz + Trukk and SM/CSM + Rhino.

Then again, my store has really old stuff and I'm fairly certain they've never bought new stuff from GW in 10 years (I seem to be the only buyer...).

But then again, the prices are 10 years old, so that's excellent for me!

Those combined boxes were sold by GW stores, just maybe not everywhere. Seen them at least in 2 different stores ( IG, SM, ..) , but never bought any myself. Discontinued nowadays IIRc.

They previously did this some years ago; maybe 2007, 2008? I remember winning the Eldar one ( 5 DA + Wave Serpent) as a raffle prize at the Baltimore GT.

Then they did it again just recently. My FLGS still has several on the shelves; mostly SM & Orks, IIRC.

They did them again a few months ago, but I'm pretty sure they were splash releases as well as you can't get them on the GW website.

There was one recently for a short period of time but they are no longer available
