I have a game coming up with my Nids vs blood angels. This guy just started playing blood angels not too long ago but has not lost to anyone yet so i assume his list is decent. I know he uses:

10 assault marines with melta,pfist
10 assault marines with melta,pfist
scout squad
tactical squad with missile and flamer

his assault squads will each have a HQ (the one that gives FNP). he also runs 3 tanks.

The list i want to use against him:

Hive Tyrant wings
Tervigon Catalyst

Genestealer x 19 w/ Broodlord w talons
Genestealers x20
Hormagaunts x23
Hormagaunts x23
Tervigon Catalyst
Termagants x10

I assume we'll be in full assault turn 2 i think with these numbers i can swarm down his assault marines. i plan to keep the genestealers behind the hormagaunts so hopefully i can get the charge with them. i will use the tervigons to put FNP on the stealers as well. i was thinking turn 1 i could fly the HT into his backfield and then land and go after the tanks turn 2. The tanks may just shoot him down so its risky, the alternative is i keep the HT with the swarm and in close combat so he can't be targeted too often from shooting.

i think my list will do well against him except for maybe his tanks but if i wipe out his troops i should be able to take the game.

is this list good or am i going to be tabled?

5th or 6 th?

The new FMC rules make a flyrant hard to hit in swoop mode with pretty much every thing in BA force needing a 6 to hit and jink giving it 5+ cover save.

The hormagaunts are going to be brutal when you assault with 23 of them getting 4 attacks on the charge out Synapse now.

I have not decided about stealers in 6th yet, but they can glance up to av13 to death and lay hurt on av12 or less with +1 on the damage table.

Broodlord can shutdown enemy Characters with challenges and hypnotic gaze. The Tac squad flamer is going to be a pain though.

It will be 6th.

For the hormagants i'm not sure if getting them out of synapse is the right move, ya extra attacks is nice but if they lose the combat the whole squad could be wiped out falling back. Seems very risky.

i played another game againts necrons today and this random assault range is killing nids (or me at least). I decided to glide my HT to go after his command barge (since vector striking at str 6 againts his 13 armor vehicle army is a waste) and i rolled a 3 inch charge range and missed by 1 inch and then got shot to peices in his turn. i actually failed to get off a 6 inch charge with several of my units in the game which ended up costing me a unit of genestealers as well.

Just played a game of Nids vs Blood Angels (I was the angels).

Let me just say, podded devourer gaunts are f'ing SCARY. They show up and blow something apart. So as any 5th ed player, my instinct is to charge them and shut off their shooting. Then you remember overwatch...omg they shoot again! With the flying tyrant nearby giving them preferred enemy, all the ones got to reroll as well! It was a lot of firepower that I had to deal with, and once the Angels started losing bodies out of squads, things started turning south.

He took no genestealers, relying on firepower and monstrous creatures to do his damage.
