Couple quick questions about what psykers can and cannot do in 6th.

- Can they, while in a vehicle, use a psychic shooting attack through a fire point? This one almost certainly has to be yes.

- Can they through a fire point target a unit outside a vehicle with a non-shooting psychic power?

- Can they target the unit they are a part of, if both them and the unit are inside a vehicle?

As I understand it,
1 Yes.
2 No, only Psychic Shooting attacks may be used through fire points.
3 Yes, iirc.

I play Space Marines, Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Astra Militarum, Militarum Tempestus, Chaos Space Marines, Dark Eldar, Eldar, Orks, Adepta Sororitas, 'Nids, Necrons, Tau and Grey Knights.

Whoa, really? 3 is allowed? For an example, I am thinking of that divination power that let's a unit reroll to hit.

2- I don't think they need to use a firepoint but for powers like fortune and doom for example which have been stated that they don't need line of sight to the target. (Although now i wonder does this rule includes the shooting attack)

Anyway i think if it doesn't need los it would be defined in the codex entry. Then they won't need fire points

Clear and explicit answer on page 78.

Combination of pages 67 and 78.

Same para, page 67.

And the answer to this one is what? That fire points give LoS therefore it's ok? Since "ranges and line of sight are measured from the fire point itself"? Hard to square that passage though with their example on page 67 about a generic unnamed 'transport' vehicle.

You can't use Fire Points to do anything but shoot.

There are no other rules allowing you to draw LOS out of a transport for any other purpose.

As Page 67 tells us, this means that for most powers (any that require LOS and aren't Witchfire/PSAs), a psyker in a transport can only target himself, his own unit, or the transport itself.

If the power states that it doesn't require LOS, though, you're all good.

Disagree. I prefer a more... liberal reading of the rules which will result in benefits to me or more likely, real life fisticuffs.

But seriously, the rules sounds like how most people played 5th edition. So at least that didn't change.

Yes, RAW is basically same as 5e post FAQ. Main difference is that now all targeted psychic powers require LOS.

...unless they specify otherwise, like most of the Eldar powers.

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

well, even for things like fortune you have to measure to the psyker to use the power (units within 6")

In 5th there was a "measure to the hull" rule for units embarked inside a transport.

I don't think there's such a rule in 6e.

So, i'm not sure how a lot of things that require you to measure to an IC will work. Even the KFF inside a battlewagon. You have to be within 6" of the KFF to benefit from cover. In 5e you measure to the hull of the wagon (making the bubble a big oval). In 6e... ?

There was a thread a while back about Coteaz and 'i've been expecting you' to the same effect.

There is.

Same.

100% unrelated. IBEY requires LoS to be drawn to the unit entering from reserves. Coteaz has no permission to draw LoS from a vehicle for a non-shooting ability, so cannot use IBEY while embarked.
