This has to do with Overwatch in particular....

When is overwatch done? Do you:

Announce the charge
Overwatch fire
Resolve Charge Range

If so then the Tomb Stalker has an ace up it's sleeve in that it can assult through terrain without having LOS (Phase Tunneling special rule). If thsi is the case then you could announce a charge from behind cover, overwatch can't draw LOS so nothing happens, then your S6 T7 MC charges in unmolested.

It works but its a very limited option as charge ranges past 5" are unreliable without rerolls. You'd also have to be able to fit the model on the other side. The los blocking terrain would have to be pretty thin for that giant base to make it to the other side reliably.

Yeah, as above, you are totally correct on how overwatch works, but the chance to do this in a game, I think would happen rarely

Yeah, I guess a model with fleet and move through cover would never be able to find a wall or anything to position itself behind for this.

Oh woe is he.

The Tomb Stalker has Fleet and Move through cover....so coudl hug a plain, LOS blocking wall, wait in ambush and then declare a charge through the wall - ignoring terrain and re-rollign it's charge dice.

Risky but potentially worth it if you are charging a nasty shooty unit.

No, that's what I'm saying; it's not really that risky at all. It's a longish model, but not a particularly big n'bulky (I had to model mine a little less dramatically, since it's got a lot of little spindly bits and not the best center of gravity) one so getting it in around some LoS blocking walls shouldn't be that difficult. And since it has pretty much every movement special rule, it can shuffle around unimpeded by terrain. It's kinda' like a Mawloc that doesn't have to burrow now.

Granted, with it's toughness, wounds and armor, I'm not usually worried about it taking significant overwatch damage anyways. I'd say go for it.

I'm hoping they will FAQ it since it still has Acute Senses....but can't Outflank. So that rule is pointless.
