How do people find him in the new edition, I am not talking about fatecrusher lists only the character himself as I don't run fatecrushers but i did run Kairos in 5th with 4 units of plaguebearers, a nurgle winged daemon prince and some flamers

Fateweaver is slightly better in some ways as he is now a flying mc which means he is harder to hit and assault and moves faster than before. That said flying makes it trick to keep static units under his bubble. I think he will work best now with one flying mcs.

Well, the first game I ran him, he refused to come in on the primary wave. Refused to come in turn 2. When he did finally show up, he refused to fly and grounded himself. He barelly passed that save. He then proceeded to fail 2 out of 5 wounds. On the 2nd leadership test, he decided he had enough and went home.

So, we are still not on speaking terms right now.

As for staying with statis units, you can always drop to gliding for a turn in order to keep with the bubble. Even before swooping, he was notoriously hard to kill. (Unless he is in my army. At which point he fights like a little girl)

My favorite is when he scatters into difficult terrain, fails they save and re-roll then LD. That and when he talk the entire shooting from the opponent for 2 turns with out a scratch.

The has been some argument for soul devourer giving him a power maul for +2 S concussive ap 2 attacks.

In your squads, doing the chainsword tango

Having played some flying daemons last night-

Vector strikes- inflicts d3+1 hits on the unit at the creatures strength and AP3. This is your AA- d3+1 hits is better than roll a 6 and hope. the downside? low S DP's. Soul devourer, with a powermaul, will let them clean up flyers. My choice was shoot my opponents valk or chase it with my thirster in the skies, I would have loved to have used my DP's who were actually near it to chase it down instead.

Whilst swooping makes fateweaver harder to keep units under his bubble, you don't have to fly around.

speaking of daemons- I've seen plenty people talk up flamers (due to wall of death overwatch), but I still don't see people not shooting them to death. T3 4++ aint tough, especially at the price you pay.

Only clowns think Flamers are good. The only people who take them are those who think their opponents will always be even more clueless about the game than they are. "OMGoat anyone who charges the flamars is gonna be sorry!!!!" Yeah, does it still take a measly 6 bolter shots to kill one? Oh...

The powermaul trick with Soul Devourer, (assuming that is even legal... needs an FAQ) doesn't work because vector strikes work at the unmodified S of the model and the maul modifies S.

Yah power maul is iffy , but he would have it in CC and that is a boost.
