OK now I know the problem of "oh I dont know how to spend my money" is a non-problem really but I have a habbit of blowing my hobby money on the first thing that takes my fantasy and regretting it later.
Having recently come into a little hobby money through a tax refund I decided to splurge and pickup a decent focal point for my force (or new force) and started to look at the variety of terminators available. My aim is to eventually pickup the zone mortalis set off of forge world and play some larger spacehulky games at my local club and thus I was looking for a good "breaching force" kind of theme for my new models.
I had initially fallen in love with the Tartaros Terminators provided by forgeworld, but this love waxes and wanes depending on the picture of a finished and painted model that I see, the stock GW termi's are looking a little meh to me lately compared to other offerings (space wolves ones in particular). After alot of debate I have settled on two (kinda three) options of what I want to get and would love to hear other peoples opinions on the models/kits I am looking at in order to make a decision.
Option 1:
2 Tartaros Terminator Kits (2 squad of 5)
Lugft Huron (to be converted to a hammer/shield termi captain which involves pickup up a new set of non-astral claws shoulder pads)
Option 2:
2 Space Wolf Terminator Kits (2 squads of 5)
Lugft Huron (converted using arms and shoulderpads spares from the space wolf kits to become a termi wolf lord)
And then when perusing the forgeworld site for the above I debated a third option for a boarding part of:
2 x Mk IV Power armour kits
Umbra Ferrox Bolters
MK IV Power Armour Captain and Standard
FW Commander Upgrade Kit (for the bionics)
I'm really struggling to chose between the options, and at this stage I'm more interesting in the modelling options provided for the kits than gameplay value (I know 2 combat squads and a power armoured captains differ significantly pointwise to 2 termi squads and termi captain). Advice most welcome on this matter.
