My local group just got into WarmaHordes and we've been playing 15 point games under the Quick Start Rules. However, it seems everyone is ready to move up to 25 point games.
With that said, I'd like advice on what to field at both points levels.
Currently, I own:
pThagrosh
pLylyth
1 Carnivean
1 Scythean
1 Raek
4 Shredders
2 Harriers
1 Shepherd
1 Forsaken
Here is what I'm thinking:
Legion - 15 points
pThagrosh
Carnivean
Scythean
and:
Legion - 25 points
pThagrosh
Carnivean
Scythean
Raek
Shredder
Harrier
The Forsaken
Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

25 pts is still a bit wonky, so its hard to add a ranged element, but you might consider adding in a deathstalker in lieu of the Harrier. I ran the following, and although its not ideal by any means and has ZERO fury management, its fast and hard to deal with for those who suffer vs high ARM. pThags +5 Carni 11 Scythean 9 Ravagore 10 Carni puts his own animus on himself, Thags puts it on the Scythean, and the Ravagore softens up targets at range. Once something dies, bring it back. Its like having to kill 4 heavies with only 25 pts lol. Could always add Another Scythean and a Shepherd instead of the Ravagore, but I find having the Ravagore on the table makes your opponent honest and keep his caster outside that 20" thread range hehe. Its a great advantage to have at such a low pt lvl.

This is actually what I ended up trying yesterday with great success:
Legion - 15 points
pThagrosh
Carnivean
Scythean
and:
Legion - 25 points
pThagrosh
Carnivean
Scythean
Shredder
Shredder
Shredder
Harrier
The Forsaken
I don't think I'm going to make any big changes quite yet! I don't have access to a Ravagore either.

Its good to take it slow, become familiar with what each model is really capable of handling and then swap pieces out and try new things.
I'm a Ravagore fanboy, so I almost always have one in my lists.

I actually really want Typhon. How do you feel about him?

I love him, but he has his place. When I first started, I used him in every list, but as time went on I started to stray. We have some casters that really turn him on. Anything that gives a boost to dmg, speed, reach, etc. But 12 pts is a lot and I find him lacking without the proper support. His sprays are good, but if you spent 12 pts for a spray bot, then I feel you're doing it wrong. Rat 5 really isn't fantastic and against infintry with high DEF its going to be a whiff fest and even against DEF 12 (low DEF) its 7's to hit... He's a bit fragile as well. I find he can tank much better with his animus up, but it still isn't always enough, and it costs him 2 fury to cast making him less effective. Then of course there is a problem with lacking pathfinder. SLOW in rough terrain, can't charge over walls and does not have reach, giving him a mediocre charge threat of 9.5". Its very lackluster for 12 pts, although with gunfighter his sprays are very nice and can extend a bit. He does have 360 front arc, a natural DEF 13 and with support can wreck nearly anything he gets to. Overall: I love him, but he has problems which some of our casters can fix. A seraph can do some amazing things for him, but now you're taking a Seraph for slipstream and thats 20 pts of your list with just those two! His mat 7 is good times as all of our beasts are mat 6 or lower and that one pt makes a huge difference. Casters I like him with: pVayl (Dark Sentinel plus Incite/Chiller make him a monster). Abby (Playing God gives him open fits and reach which is pretty sweet, and forced evolution will bring his P/S up to 19 and DEF 15 which is fantastic). pLylyth (Feat turn makes his sprays super accurate, coupled with parasite, he kills swiftly) Rhyas (Great Rapport Target) eThagrosh (Manifest Destiny) Saeryn (Her feat helps to deliver him, but I've started to stray away from him with her). My other lists are too tight to run him in, but Kallus could give him Ignite which is sweet, eLylyth could make him stealth and on feat turn get 4 sprays off (kinda meh), eVayl I feel its a trap because you want to put refuge or Admonition on him, and use as a spray bot which feels like a waste of points, pThags wants a Carni and high ARM, and Bethayne doesn't really have room for him in her lists. These are of course only my opinions, but thats what I think of Typhon.

Is there a reason your not doing infantry? I'm just starting legion as well. I have the starter box and forsaken as my 15 points. 25 I'm switching to rhyas and removing shredders/forsaken in favor of warmongers and solo, niphilum bolt thrower and Shepard. It's still down 1 point though so I'm looking for a good way to fix that.
However even with parasite my 15 point list is having issues with infantry lists. How are you handling these?
Note: I'm in a slow gro league so even though I want to get rid of plylith I can't until the end of the month and I go to 25s.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'd thought about using him with pThag, but we'll have to see.

I've found that the Forsaken and Scythean are great at clearing infantry. Also, I do have a breath weapon on the Carnivean and Thagrosh. Plus, Thagrosh has Obliterate, which is a POW 15 AOE 4 spell.

Forsaken are excellent at clearing ARM 14-15 or below infintry. Anything above that is inconsistent, and once it happens, you're flapping in the breeze waiting to be murdered. Its a viable option, but Fury management is the superior option most of the time. Also, don't forget you can use that fury to boost/buy attacks. It comes in very handy for killing single targets. Boosted P/S 12's can hurt. Scytheans can clear infintry due to reach and buying several attacks, but they are MAT 6, so not the best at it, and the Chain attack only triggers if it hits the SAME target with both initials. Vs. infintry, the only time I've had this come up was vs. Trolls because the first target rolled a tough check. Erruption of Spines is a great spell, but difficult for her to cast because FURY 5. Succubus might help some casting a free animus and upkeeping a spell, but most likely, going to cast Parasite and camp the rest. If you want something to help clear infintry, get a pair of Deathstalkers. Its 4 pts and can kill 2 models each reliably a turn. The Ravagore, once again, is a great option as well, albeit more expensive and at the cost of a heavy. You might also consider running the Striders+UA as they are an excellent choice for clearing infintry and being highly mobile with inherent stealth, and the UA grants Hunter + Reform! Good times.
