Greetings all just thought i'd start up a blog chronicling my mammoth attempt to paint myself a Waaagh for an upcoming event in October. Here's a rundown of what i'm going to be doing...

1x Warboss on bike (to be converted)
5x Nob Bikers inc. painboy (pb to be converted)
10 Grotz + Runtherd
8 Lootas

It's only 600pts and a fistfull of models however i'm an incredibly slow and impatient painter that expects to be able to produce a Picasso every hour or so but really takes a week.

First post shall be this, Grot number 1...

I know, i know, unusual choice for the skin however i personally think it suits the fellas. No greenskins in my Waaagh i'll assure you of that. Only things left to do on him are his left arm, pouches etc, strappings and nails along with his base which will most likely be some form of textures paint from GW for convenience.

Feel free to comment, more posts coming soon!

Very nice indeed, always pleasing to see someone pulling off painting skin in such an wellbalanced way. Moar please.

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

Thanks so far STC. REally enjoying flesh, reds and many other colours thanks to the new(ish) GW paints. Even more so with the ever-so-useful glazes. Anyways grot 1 is all done and dusted now barring i think a highlight on his nails, his eye and base detailing. Apologies for the contrast, i seem to have got a fair bit of flash contrasting this shoot.

I experimented quite a bit to get the skin tone i wanted pretty much by solely using the glazes in different quantities and methods achieving some quite different results...

Anyway, I'm done for the day so i'll crack on tomorrow and finalise my basing and begin the batch painting of the rest of his mob, Nigel's Nobblaz who are led naturally, by a guy called Nigel (image and more info to follow next update!)

Comments always welcome!
