Hey mate,
I live up in Elgin but I only go down to the GW store now and then. I have been once or twice previously but it was for more of a look around then a gaming session. I don't really have an army as such but I hope to get an IG one sorted by the end of the year. Why not try and get to know some of the guys in the store? They'll probably be more than glad to help you get back into the hobby.
Good luck!

hi grim
not sure if this is gonna help you but ive also been looking to get back into fantasy but struggling to find people to play with. I am fairly new to the hobby (although i did play 40k when i was younger in pretty much a beginner now). Im 24 years of age, and would only be able to make weekend games or after 6 during the week.
i will admit i would be looking for a few smaller games (round the 500pt mark) to get to grips with the main aspects of the game (think thats why im struggling). so ja if you are interested let me know.

Not sure if this will help, but I stop in the store whenever I get off work before driving home and I have always had an offer of a game (I will remember my army sometime to take them up on the offer)
The game room upstairs has plenty of tables, as well as the ones downstairs.
It is definately one of the busier stores and has alot more gaming space available than I have seen in most GW stores.
I would give the store a call, no doubt they have regular gaming nights or can advise on busier times.

hey guys
im at college tuesdays and fridays so im free after 5pm on eather day. (currently re-painting my whole eldar army)
i have around 3000pts of high elves and 2500/3000pts of eldar.
A 500 pts game is very small and quick but of anyone is keen for a game around 2000pts of eaither give me a shout and we can sort somthing.
i know in GW aberdeen tuesdays is veterans night (over 18's i think?) and thurs is everyone, so alot of kids etc. id rather play on a tuesday but fridays are good too.
anyway...
im not 100% on the new 40k rules but anyone who has a good idea on the rules then im good with that. i have a knowlage of it...
fantasy im pritty good with the rules, i know most of the stuff. (some of the more obscure rules ill have heard of but need reminding)
cool.
Cheers!

Hi folks. I'm also from Aberdeen, Scotland, and am hoping to find a few folks to game with in the near future. I'm currently getting a SM army together.
Not played 40k before, but used to play WHFB many years ago. I have plenty space to host a few games at my house (Blackburn, the shire...), and wondered if anyone would be patient enough to give me a few games to help me pick up the rules in return for beer/crisps!
Obviously, looking to game against 'older' players - nothing against younger folks, but in this day and age, rumours are easily started...

@ Orlanth he's advertising for staff while telling the scottish govt he still might pull the plug. I have to say he came across quite well at the recent(ish) Sparliamant meeting. But he's generally percieved as an outsider telling Scots what to do, which turned public opinion against him a bit.

The main course itself is built and open - I know a few folks who have played it, and it is by all accounts, a world-class course. What he's looking to pull out on is all the apartments and stuff he was going to build - the economy is a very different beast to when the plans were submitted, and it appears like he is trying to find any excuse now, not to build.
He's now claiming a wind farm (that had planning permission before he even bought his land) should be cancelled.
Flappy haired twit.

[thread hijack] Thanks you the replies.
I was wondering which side the Aberdeen locals here were in the game of 'spot the tyrant'. Trumps PR has been very active he is seen as a bully, yet there appears to be a lot of popular pressure aimed at those who oppose him.

I'd be game for that in a few months. Aiming to get a basic sm army done in the short term, but have a couple of thousand points of Orc and gobbo whfb that I want to get up and running after that! My whfb days were a long time ago, but if beer makes you patient, then I'd be happy to ply you with it in return for some tips.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I just put the shire in case anyone thought I meant Blackburn, England! It's technically the shire though - that's where me council tax goes!
