No the thread is a couple month old, from before Kickstart pulled the project for there site. To many bible thumper, felt butthurt about a game they never play, and forcing there view on other poeple, made Kickstart care.

TBF, it wasn't bible thumpers who were upset, if you mean conservative religious types. Actually, the culprits were young white males who write blogs about video games. They attacked Tentacle Bento as glorification of "rape culture" and pushed the story around theinternet faux-feminist circuit. Anyone who dared to disagree that supporting this card game was tantamount to promoting the actual rape of girls was denounced as "creepy" or misogynistic. Fundamentalists don't have Bibles anymore, my friends. They have iPads.

I was thinking iPad-thumper didn't have the same ring, but I kind of like it. Same end effect, people who view there opinions so right and moral, the MUST enforce the ideas on everyone else, to feel good about themself.

Yeah... I had plenty of friends angry at this game, and I was like, "you're kidding right?" And then I was accused of promoting said rape culture. I then saw Soda Pop at Origins Game Fair in Ohio and paid for the game right there on the spot.

I never expected much from this game. I thought it was cute and funny and would be amusing to have a copy. I'd bet money that the folks who got so stirred up about it will never think of it again, which is good for everybody's blood pressure. One of the harsh critics I read, a woman who compared it to laughing along with convicted rapists about sexist jokes, seemed to think it was a video game. what an enlightened and well informed outlook ...
In any case, I am pretty excited to get the game. I am looking forward to seeing real in-person reactions to it from people who actually know about gaming rather than people who complain about video games online.
