Under evade it says you can chose to evade until the END OF YOUR NEXT TURN. Does that mean that if you force (for example) a Stormraven to evade it will have to keep zooming on its next turn (since only a zooming flyer can evade) instead of going Hover and dropping off its troops with the assault vehicle rule.

Bump, anyone got a take on this?

You choose at the start of your turn which mode a flier is in.

You are not forced into Zoom mode while evading.

It is written that way because it forces you to only make snap shots in your next turn.

I think you can't evade, unless you are in Zoom mode. If that's the case, then you can't evade "until the end of your next turn" if you switch to hover mode half-way through the evade.

You can only declare evade after you have made your zoom move in your turn. This is true.

However evade lasts til the end of your next turn and at the beginning of your next turn you can declare hover mode, as declaring evade does not restrict you to zooming.

You do lose the evade if you go into hover mode, but all that does is give you Jink, which all skimmers get anyway when they move.

Assuming you can change to hover mode, there's no reason you would lose the evade, it doesn't say you lose the evade for changing to hover mode, and it says it lasts until the end of your next turn, if your opponent was allowed to fire out of sequence at your hovering flyer that evaded during your opponents turn and is now hovering but has not moved it would still have it's cover save from evading, as strange as that seems.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Which does not matter, as you are only firing snap shots anyway, you may as well move your skimmer.

Either way ti does not matter.

But it does say an evading flier gets jink. not an evading skimmer.

But could you even go to hover mode since you are still evading, and you have to zoom to evade.

Only flyers can evade.

Once you go into Hover Mode you are treated as a fast skimmer and therefore lose any bonuses you may have gotten for being a flyer.

Although it's worth noting that a Hovering Flyer that moves still gets a Jink save.

Yes, that is true (I thought I had said that, but I did not mention moving.)
