1 Commander Shas’o with plasma rifle, twin-linked missile pod, hard wired multi-tracker, drone controller and two shield drones
Common Tau tactics suggest you should replace this guy with a Shas'
el and equip him with a targeting array. That would require you to un-twin-link your missile pod though. Which I'm assuming you're hoping will help with overwatch.
What I would suggest is changing him to an '
el and keeping his loadout the same. The loss in percentage for the missile pod's accuracy is minimal and you save some much needed points.
Stealth Team = 122 points
2 stealthsuits with targeting arrays
1 stealthsuit with a fusion blaster and a targeting array
In such low points, you might be better off going with a small team (or two montat) crisis suits. They are more effective shooting and stealth suits are just a little too pricey to be effective at this level. You'll also get better tank hunting ability with two montats.
1 Shas’ui with markerlight, target lock and multitracker
Target locks for infantry no longer do anything as per the Tau
FAQ. That mitigates the effect of the markerlights as well. Also, the multitracker is unnecessary. Because Firewarriors are so squishy, and you want them to move, I would suggest dropping all these upgrades (accept a team leader) and using the points elsewhere.
Gun Drone Squadron = 72 points
6 gun drones
While I think Gun Drones are fun, you might find they won't impact the game significantly. While they did get a bonus from the twin-linked overwatch shots, you might want to use these points to fill out the crisis suits.
Other things to consider are trying to fit in a broadside. It has unparalleled tank hunting ability and will complement your fire warrior gunline well. With the points from the fire warriors and gun drones you can afford one. A lot of this comes down to personal preference but Crisis Suits are where tau lay down the pain and I think you'll find they will help you out significantly.
