EDIT: This log is now focused mainly on the Death korps of Krieg. Despite the first couple of photos not showing for some reason all of the new updates, starting at the bottom of the page are working just fine! Any comments/suggestions/feedback is highly appreciated!

Hello to all of you fellow wargamers,

After about a year of pause I decided to come back to wargaming and with that I rediscovered numerous sacks and boxes full of models waiting to be painted. My last attempt to do a painting log died not short after its start due to my laziness and because i stopped paying any attention to wargames whatsoever for a fairly long period of time. I think it is time for second attempt.

Amongst both explored and unexplored boxes await various armies for a lot of gaming systems and after previous experiments proved my inability to maintain my focus on one project this log might become slightly disorganized really quickly as i paint and assemble random models from random systems in random order. What is to come contains models for these gaming systems: Warhammer 40k, Flames of War, Battlefleet gothic, Lord of the Rings Sbg, Necromunda and Space hulk.

Despite 40k being my flagship game and hundreds of grim warriors from the planet of Krieg awaiting my attention i decided to halt a bit and first get back into painting by painting some models for my Imperial fleet and also i painted first member of my Necromunda gang. Now i am working on a recon squad and a Kingtiger tank for my German Flames of War army.

Thank you for any feedback and id appreciate any comments, suggestions on improving my paintjobs and on what to paint next. Also any encouragement would be very helpful.

I finished next couple models today, unfortunately it has been rainy outside so the pictures arent of high quality.

A King tiger and a sniper (a picture of the sniper is way too blurry and i will try to take it later again if desired) for my Flames of War and next three cruisers for my Imperial fleet

I like the simpleness of the BFG, you just prime then wash them ? Good job on the king tiger I suck at doing camo patterns, for my SS.
Like the IG more angles would be nice.

I use white primer, gryphone sepia wash, bleached bone drybrush of top part of the ship and then silver details and engines.

For the KT it was my first FoW miniature alongside the sniper i have painted.

I have been painting till 4am yesterday and finished some vehicles for my mech guard army. Also i have ran out of Badab black and i am closing on emptying gryphhone sepia and devlan mud. I was also trying to strip track guards and heavy bolter from a second hand basilisk... that guy must have used some crazy inhuman technology to bind them together





It was crazy removing the heavy bolter... in the end i suceeded just barely but both the gun and track guards got destroyed in the process. ...It looks a little bit like some part of female body, the remains heavy bolter does..

Very nice paintjobs here, I really like the skin!

Some more models for my Death korps army just arrived so i am pretty happy... i think i will do last cadian squad i need to paint to finish up the mech guard first... i still need to purchase some weathering pigments, sawdust and more washes (and maybe water effect) before i start with my DkoK again.

So i have finished last 9 guardsmen needed to finish my IG armored veteran list (this doesnt include any tanks as they are detached from my armoured company and thus i treat them as separate army which is part of my Krieg arsenal and thus are not painted yet). Now i need to paint a trukk and about 6 orks to finish that army into playable state from which i probably wouldnt expand it any further... mby just 1 more unit of boyz and a 2nd battlewagon.

The list contains a command squad with plasmas, 6 veteran squads including two with autocannon and grenade launchers, three with two plasmas and a meltagun each, one of the squad has a lascannon too and a squad with shotguns and meltas and demolition charge. There also is a lame Marbo conversion. The transports are 6 chimeras and a vendetta. Each squad has distinctive color on their shoulderpad and their transport bears the same, the sarge has a number on his shoulder pad which is the same as their transport vehicle bears.

If you want any detail shots of some particular group/model i will try to deliver but the prime goal with painting this army was speed and speed only so the quality of paintjob is nonexistent on these ones... on vehicles it is disguised a little with tons of wash and the size of the model

Aight! Here are some old random shots... Orks were my first army and the paintjob on most of these is at least 4 years old, they cannot keep up with ur quality Orks MrMerlin

I will take photos of the whole thing (its about the size of the IG army) once i finish the rest of the models ..will be painting them later on in the evening or at night.

I have finished what i said i will finish with slight delay due to distractions of various sort. Here are some random shots of the army and the group of models i have painted.

I also found out i will definintely need a 2nd battlewagon (or 4th trukk) because my nobz or one of boyz mobz lacks a ride... I already have an idea of converting a tau vehicle into some kind of ork harvester/vacuum cleaner to represent deffrolla.

Without the missing battlewagon the army now contains a warboss, 10 nobz including a painboy and one that can serve either as khornestom force fielded mek or a waagh banner nob, 3x12 trukk boyz, 20 battlewagon boyz, 3 bikerz with a powerklaw nob, 2 deffkoptas and 3 grot kannons. ...hmmm when i am thinking about that i might need a dedicated mek model with the kustom force field.

Thanks, at first i was just using goblin green over black undercoat but to speed the process up im now using just camo green layer followed up by heavy wash of ogryn flesh.

I apologize for the recent lack of updates as ive been busy lately and will go out of town till sunday so more painting comes after that ...but ive at least assembled some bfg ships (its been so painful... that pewter..)

Ive been assembling and priming some more IG ships, will start painting them today or tomorrow

A Dauntless class light cruiser finished (cuz i went to buy new paints as i ran out of several old ones)... now the Emperor battleship, 2nd dauntless, 2 more cruisers and a grand cruiser are on the way to finish the fleet... I will take pictures of them all when they are finished which should be some time next week unless some of you wish otherwise.

On the side note the new paint range from gw is awfully confusing to me and i still struggle to find some of the paints i need.

Another side note is that i have made an order from forgeworld so rest of the models needed for my Death korps along with needed stuff such as weathering powders is on the way now!

EDIT: Retribution class battleship finished

So i have finished a cruiser and a battlecruiser today. What remains is another dauntless light cruiser and a vengeance class grand cruiser. I also need to get 4 cobra destroyers to round myself up to 2500 points to finish the army.





The bad light on the last picture is intentional as there only is sun shining from one direction enlightening the ship

Thanks, at first i was worried about the fleet when i decided to go with different colors on the front armor plates but i dont think it looks too bad... even the blue on the dauntless looks kinda okay

EDIT: Vengeance grand cruiser finished... but the weight of the vessel was unbearable for the stand so it broke... i had to use huge amounts of green stuff and superglue and now some brave 60mm bases and paint containers are holding it in place.. hopefuly when it fixes itself in place over the night it will not break tomorrow again.

So i began a huge assembling process of my Death korps so far going through 2 grenadier squads

Ive been assembling a LOT of Death korps lately. Finally my Tamiya weapon sets arrived too. Here is a grenadier sarge that recieved custom "bolter"

Hi all and thanks for replies. I have been busy levelling up my guild wars 2 warrior (at lvl 65 now). Also i started working on translating a Gaunts ghost book by Dan Abnett into czech as a job.

As far as BFG is considered it is very fun game to play although some of the missions are not very well balanced at all (for example necrons in convoy are able to pass the board in 2 turns without getting shot at) it is still perfect for casual play with your friends. I do enjoy imperium fleet very much because it has the "naval fleet" feeling to it while still staying in warhammer universe.

Hello after almost a year!

After a long school year I am finally back in action already having painted hull of my first Leman Russ tank for my Death korps. The turret will come shortly after, when its finished that is.

Oh and by the way these are my first "serious" attempts at a freehand... hope i can get better by the end of the tank company..

I just finished a Lacannon squad yesterday at night! Next up is a Centaur.

Next update: a Centaur! I absolutely love the little guy, it is just so cute and fun to paint. And it sometimes gets really annoying in the game too with 2 meltas aboard and forces a lot of fire upon itself for that, poor paper AV.
