The Emperor was gone for a good portion of the beginning of the heresy. What in the world could have been so important? The golden throne, unto which he failed? Or did he already predict the heresy so he was creating the throne for his corpse to sit on because he knew he was going to let Horus beat the hell out of him before he killed Horus. Like... What was he doing, chilling playing world of Warcraft 40k in his Himalayan super-fortress?

That's not a bad thing. Lexicanum gets a lot of stuff wrong. As Lynata pointed out, this is in part a result of its very format being wrong -- presenting everything as some coherent body of fact when we know the proper way to talk about it is always keeping in mind that one piece of information is tied to a a certain source or group of sources and may contradict other information in other sources. Lexicanum is a good starting place but it doesn't always do even the most basic service -- which is pointing you to a source.
