Subject: [Poll]Can Slaanesh' hold on the Eldar be broken?

I couldn't get an answer anywhere else, so here's the question: if an Eldar is marked by another Power, does it mean Slaanesh' hold on their soul is broken? EDIT: If yes or no, then why?

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.
'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.' |

No, becasue all Eldar souls are automatically eaten by slaanesh, and no eldar has been marked by another chaos power.
I mean, even if somehow, and Eldar found Nurgle, Khorne or Tzeentch appealing, I still think that Slaanesh would end up devouring the soul when it died.

They can, through the laughing god.
Dark Eldar codex page 42 wrote:The Harlequins embody an age-old enigma that has haunted the Eldar since the Fall, for they alone know the secret of how to deny Slaanesh and keep their sould burning bright.
As far as I can see, that's basically the answer right there.

Assuming it did happen, I don't see Khorne willing to give something to Slaanesh, and neither do I see Nurgle abandoning one of his own, especially since keeping the soul might give him kudos with Isha. Tzeentch...well, useful pawns are protected. Chaos Undivided, yeah, Slaanesh would still get the soul.

Perhaps not entirely, the solitare's soul is still Slaanesh's even though those of other harlequins aren't. But it is possible, I mean hell if the Emperor can keep the souls of trillions from the ruinous powers, why cant a weaker deity do so for a small group of eldar, oh wait that's already happening .
Also if Slaanesh is destroyed that would break the hold, though who know what gak is going to happen when all the souls he consumed are released , probably nothing good.

This is individual scale, mind. As in an Eldar got marked by a Power and fought and died in its service. As for the souls...easy. Dissolved into the Warp.

Same thing than, if Cegorach can do it, than so can any of the other Chaos Gods. Though if that eldar is someone very significant they might fight over his or her soul.

Cegorach's already been doin it, so...
And Solitaires are an odd exception as the fluff contradicts itself on their souls. It specifically mentions in multiple instances that the solitaires have no soul (this, shock of all shocks) is why they had the Soulless rule. That being said, it also maintains that their (possibly non-exsistant) souls belong to slanesh on death. WTF?

Harlequins have their souls protected by Cegorach. Solitaire souls can be saved by a gamble on his part.

Ah yes. I forgot about the harlies. I concede the point. Therefore, assuming an Eldar could worship a chaos god, slaanesh wouldn't get their soul.

I don't see why not, but really, selling your soul to another evil god seems kinda pointless.

Well if you perform well enough then perhaps instead of getting your soul nom nom'd you get daemonhood if ever an Eldar found that to be appealing (possibly in some sort of lesser-of-the-two-evils-in-a-worst-case-scenario)
|
Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Considering how no Eldar is ever fat or ugly, I'd imagine an Eldar Daemon Prince would actually not look like a monster.

The four Power are more or less equal, remember. Its definitely not impossible that if one of the other three claim the soul of an Eldar that served them well then Slaanesh could do nothing to get it. Tzeentch might give it, but not if the Eldar in question was really useful pawn. Nurgle and Khorne would definitely not. The latter would sooner bump fists with the Emperor than make Slaanesh happy. The former...well, if Isha really is with Nurgle, what better way to make her happy than by giving her Eldar souls as a gift?

If She Who Thirsts has so much power over all eldar, how would it even be possible for eldar to consider that one of their Gods is being held by nurgle? It may not be the case, but the eldar wouldn't believe it if she had such power over all eldar.
