Lost in Warp... again

I have recently set myself a difficult challenge: Make a list with the models I have, but make it fun to play and able to win. (Just not WAAC)

Here is the list I came up with. It suffers against tanks, this I know, but I was wondering if ya'll could see anyother holes?

Theme: Thousand Sons
Points: greater than 1000 (no real goal here, just an army that's legal)

HQ:
Sorcerer [195] (MoT, Familiar, Doombolt, Warptime, Bolt of Change) - more than likely I will change these out for powers from the book, but he's not too bad with just his codex powers.

Troops:
Squad 1 [208] (Aspiring Sorcerer w/ Doombolt, 6 Marines) - This is the Sorcerer's Coterie. His bodyguards if you will. Again, the AS power may or may not be switched out depending on my enemy.
Squad 2 [254] (Aspiring Sorcerer w/ Doombolt, 8 Marines) - for a total of 9, the number of Tzeentch!
Squad 3 [254] (Aspiring Sorcerer w/ Doombolt, 8 Marines)
Squad 4 [254] (Aspiring Sorcerer w/ Doombolt, 8 Marines)

That's the Fluffy part of the army. Here's the rest

HQ:
Lord [165] (Terminator Armor, MoT, Combi-Melta, Daemon Weapon) - the Daemon Weapon is currently in the form of a Lightning Claw, so I can always fall back on that...

Elites:
Terminator Squad 1 [235] (AC w/ IoT and PW, 2 Termies w/ PF, 1 w/ Chainfist and Autocannon)
Terminator Squad 2 [185] (AC w/ IoT and PAxe, 2 Termies w/ PF, 1 w/ PW)

So as to provide options, the additional models I have are:
1 Dreadnaugt (AoBR) (MM and DCCW)
1 Daemon Prince (Winged)
3 Flamer Marines
3 ML Marines
2 PC Marines (I really hope CSM can take PC in the next codex...)
the orks from AoBR minus the 'copters... but I'm not really sure how that would help...
20 Imperial Guardsmen (not much help either, but hey it's almost a platoon!)

Sorcerers with Telepathy suffer from anti-tank? I think you will do fine. Telepathy is definitely nice, and if sorcerers roll Invisibility, that can make up for your low numbers.

I notice there is one considerably large problem... You only have 8 units. Where's the 9th?

How about a demon prince. "Magnus" stand-in? He is, after all, a shapeshifter.

Wait, do you have squads of 7 or 9? 6 marines and sorcerer, etc

Whoops! That's what I get for Copying and Pasting. I would definitely add in the Daemon Prince, but my only problem is I can't see how to make him worth 250 pts. My list is currently 1750, and I'd need it to be at least 2000 to take that third HQ.

Also, yes, the squads number 9 except for the Sorcerer's (not enough models). I even have 9 Terminator Armored Marines!

True. 9 Terminators is fun, too.

Hmmmm.. Maybe in a few weeks we can make new lists with a new book.

(little secret... I took all my combi-melta and chainfists off of my terminators and replaced them with tlbolters and khopesh... juuuuuust in case we get Rubrics)

Giving your Sorcerers Bolt of Change or Wind of Chaos goes a long way towards helping your anti-tank. You don't need Doombolt, you already have AP3 bolters. If you really want to get a sorcerer loaded up with powers (which are expensive) to swap them out, Ahriman is probably better for that.

Also, the Winged DP with Bolt of Change and Wind of Chaos is a beast, since he can fire both and still assault.

Small squads of terminators with Autocannons or combi-weapons are good too. If they all have combi-melta, may be better to deep strike but who knows.

So something like this:

DP with Wings, Bolt or Wind (or both!)
Sorcerer with Bolt or Wind
3x Terminators with Reaper Autocannon
3x Terminators with 3x Combi-melta
9 Thousand Sons (Includes sorc with Bolt)
9 Thousand Sons (Includes sorc with Bolt)
9 Thousand Sons (Includes sorc with Bolt)

And then you can add in Predators, Obliterators, Defilers, more troops, or whatever you want really.

With the new powers from the rulebook, I would argue that Ahriman is worth his cost just for that sort of synergy.

With his codex powers, he offers nothing for your army.
