Right now, I have 3 unbuild Ork kits waiting for me: 1 Stompa and 2 Battlewagons. I was consering using the gun from the Stompa and build me a Battlewagon with Supa Kannon.

Did anyone of you ever use it? The stats from the gun don't seem that impressive. Should I stick with the regular Killkanon?

How does it not seem impressive? It basically a basilisk mounted on the back of a battlewagon. As opposed to the killkannon it has great range, good strength and is able to reliably hurt vehicles.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Yup, it's got the range, strength and blast to be of great use. Not to mention it's mounted on an AV14, 4 HP vehicle.

Then it still has a few spaces left for a small unit to ride in (like a min size meganob unit).

With the new rules for firing weapons, it can fire the main gun and a pair of rokkits in the same turn.

All for the same or less than a Russ (?).

For a measly ten points less?

Fixed that for you - meks will repair the HP and the weapon destroyed rolls, or have a few lootas for extra firepower.

Indeed. Though I tend to want to keep a rear-guard unit.

I'm not as fussed about keeping the wagon alive as I'll usually have at least three others, two of which are full to the brim with meganobs.

Supa kannons are great. FW sure does love giving orks some range power. Before allies this is one of the few ways to have a "looted bassie", only that it was direct fire

Sorry, I don't have the Ork dex with me right now. Is it really just ten points more? What was the strength on the Killkannon? 7 or 8?

Killkannon are a very crappy 7

Boomguns are a slightly better 8 IIRC

Yup, though the transport capacity is slightly less and you can only put two weapons on it rather than four, but these are small beans compared to the great improvement it makes as a infantry/tank killer.

I run two and a lifta wagon in my 2k games.

I just had an Apocalypse game where I used the Big Trakk with Supakannon and I was very impressed. Gives orks some nice long range, heavy duty, firepower and that's even cheaper than the Battlewagon (although not quite as survivable).

Okay, I'm sold. I'll build one Battlewagon with two sets of tracks and a Supa Kannon.

Now I just have to figure out how to equip the Stompa.

Make it a Mek Stompa, with a Super-Lifta-Droppa arm Tons of scope for conversion there..

I kept the smaller gun from that arm (the drum-fed one) to use as in ork AA gun emplacement i'm building

I was planning on giving him a wrecking ball. Just love the image. The huge chainsaw is too awesome not to use (and hard to use with anyhting else ). Though a Lifta Dropa is tempting.

I like the idea for the AA emplacement. I was planning on building more terrain anyway.

There's a Goff stompa variant, i think, that only has CC weapons. Your Wrecking ball idea would fit well with that..

I don't have my books on me at work, so i can't quote page numbers etc :(

Klaw Stompa. Gets additional attacks and can charge 12" (in 5th).

There was also a rolla-stompa in one of the releases that had a massive deffrolla strapped to the front.

There was actually a WD with "build your own Stompa" rules. I could combine the Wrecking Ball with the tractor beam, if I wanted to.

I want to include a Big Mek model in the Stompa, so a Lifta would fit really well. But I also really like the idea of a wrecking ball.

IA:8 also has a kustom stompa builder, with the potential for a horrendous amount of dakka.
