rhino's aren't that great now, and don't really have the points for it. only other thign I can think of doing is putting the marines in the valkyires or vendettas and buying chimeras for the ig. But the ig are the ones with plasma guns for anti terminator
but I'd have to drop a squad of marines to afford the three chimeras

Negatory on the Marines in the Valks, Allies rules don't allow for transporting allied units
I personally never thought rhinos were great... but they fact that they move my marines to where they're needed is what's important
Without at least some transports I would worry that a good refused flank would let your opponent eat your list piecemeal

I think foot slogging marines may in fact work now.
If not take scouts.
If you you not like them bring a bike army, as they are now hard.
In any case bring Telion with some snipers as they are pretty good and you have no reason really not to.
Good idea, though. Maybe just double FoC either army to get more flyers than bother with allies.
Also I have a feeling those particular flyers may have a fall from grace when antiflyer guns and new flyers get introduced in the next few codices. So be careful buying models.

Ravenwing box set is reasonably priced and they have the parts to be vanilla bikes if you were wondering.
True tactical squads are cheap as they are ten a penny.
