My brain is being stupid and I think I'm reading it wrong.
If I'm understanding this correctly a ork trukk when it flatts out means it can go 24inches in the movement phase? Am I reading that right? If not, what is the trukks max distance it can go during the movement phase?

No, you cannot move above 12" in the movementphase. Flat Out moves take place in the shooting phase in stead of shooting.
Heavy vehicles may not go Flat Out
Vehicles go up to an extra 6" when going Flat Out.
Fast Vehicles go up to an extra 12" when going Flat Out.
Fast skimmers go up to an extra 18" when going Flat Out.

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

- No vehicle (aside from flyers) moves more than 12" in the movement phase
- Flat out is done in the shooting phase instead of shooting. Fast vehicles can flat out 12".

Correct.
Skimmers get their Jink rule these days, which improves if they Flat Out it think.
Trukks never had a cover save from flat out in 5th, and still don't in 6th.

EDIT: Ah, I see what you mean. As Ascalam said, no you do not get a cover save specificly from the flat out move. If the vehicle has Jink, it will improve from a 5+ to a +4.

I think he was referring to the old 5th Ed rule (skimmers only) that gave you a cover save when flat out.
You can absolutely still hide behind a ruin or whatever.
