Hello, I am Captain Brian. I've been a lurker around here for quite some time and I must say this is a pretty cool site you have here.

I've been involved on and off in the 40k for quite some time (I started in the dying days of the 4th edition), mainly painting random GW models and reading and creating fluff. With the 6th edition out I finally decided I would take the plunge and start building my first army. My goal is to build a semi-competitive Imperial Guard Air Cav army between 2500 and 5000 points in size.

I hope to post pictures, army lists, and eventually battle reports as the army takes shape.

Hi! If your thinking of doing an Air based army why don't you consider using some of forge worlds Elysians. (I think that's how you spell it)

You know what they say kids, drive it like its a rental.

Welcome aboard good sir, and enjoy your stay
I agree with tim, if you have the time and money, some of those specialty models will really snaz up your army.

Alas, I am but a poor college student and Forge World is out of my self imposed budgetary restrictions...

I however am decent at converting so I felt the cheaper (and IMO cooler) option would be to convert all of my guardsmen to look something like this...

Yes, excellent. They will look great! Also If you make those you could just buy some elysian heads (sold for about 10pounds) and then they would look the part!

Or if you really wanted FW stuff you would just have to do what I have done with my death korpse. Slowly build it up over the years!

But the cheaper solution looks great!

You know what they say kids, drive it like its a rental.
