The word illegal is not going to go away. From what I've been hearing on the grapevine is there are peeps in gov't trying to make the word "illegal" in the column of a hate crime

I can understand when it comes to certain terms - ones that really are just terms meant to demean and such. But really, this seems a bit silly. If you can be arrested for breaking a law, then by breaking that law you are doing something illegal right?

Although in a certain light you have to admire people who can just believe something so hard that they can just spit in the face of logic like that.

That's not the argument.

The argument is that illegal immigrants are not just bad for the economy, not just illegal, but also sneaky and bullying.

So they shouldn't be allowed in the country.

About the only thing I can think of is that using "illegal immigrant" all the time might cause the term "immigrant" to become automatically associated with the "illegal" part.

So always using illegal immigrants might make people hostile towards imimigrants in general. Maybe? I admit it could be a stretch.

If we would change anything about this term I think it should be the immigrant part. Maybe "illegal worker" or "illegal resident". But that's not really catchy.

The point I was trying to make with that was: It doesn't matter what you call them, you could call them a "cucomber" it doesn't change a thing. Unless we are trying to come to term, debating language is a waste of time. The fact still remains that they are in the country illegally, they are nationally trespassing and they need to go, that's it!

Somewhere in south-central England.

Alternatively, legalise them. End of problem.

What every country needs to do is get away from rhetoric and emotion, and examine the conditions under which immigration can be "good" or "bad", and act rationally.

I mean, if the US needs workers that cannot be provided by the native population, it makes sense to get people from other countries who want to come and do those jobs.

But I don't think that will happen because as in Japan and the UK, people are scared of immigrants. They think their jobs will be taken away, or public spending will increase, and so on.

Which in way shape or form was not supported by that quote, so again, what does that have to do with anything.

Wait Katt Williams like rapper/comedian Katt Williams? This guy?
Yeah that's the face I think of every time the Tea Party comes up. I mean when BET sponsors Tea Party rallies I'm sure he will do a set there.
OR maybe being agitated by illegal immigration is not exclusive to the groups you disagree with.

Not really. If you start rewarding people for sneaking into the country without getting checked out by customs, more people are going to sneak in and bypass customs. That's not a good thing. It's also unfair to those would-be immigrants who do the right thing and respect the country's laws.

Because if i'm a farmer and I need someone to pick my field I could give a gak who they are and where they came from, their the only ones that want to work then let em work. If not my produce rot and I go bankrupt.

Finite resources spread over an ever increasing population. jobs are finite as is the public purse. illegal immigrants do not pay into the tax system (bar taxes on paid goods and services such as VAT and fuel duty) and cannot run businesses (legally anyways). so how can we not be concerned that out resources and opportunities to gain employment are being taken by people who enter the country illegally? population is a very delicate balancing act and with people living for longer, our systems can only sustain so many people. as the economic collapse has shown us, you cannot have endless growth!
