The Dlord is everybodies friend! He was always good supporting CC units like wraith and TPs but now he is also a great support character for shooty units, for 155pts he can give a warrior blob a res orb, preffered enemy and CC support. He can also jump from one unit to the next to spread his buffs where they are needed or dash out and intercept assault units.

Worth it?

in 1500 pts or less he is an easy pick he dosent even need the orb. I use him in a simlar manner as you then break him off after a turn or two of shooting to go rip it up with the wraiths

I see Destroyer Lords as being better than they were, but I only see taking one as a second HQ choice except in a highly focused Jump Infantry List. They are powerful, but the fact that they give up a Royal Court is huge, as it means that you can't get Pulses, Veils, or Chronometrons.

Also a much easier choice now that you really dont need that second court sas much. I am finding myself cutting out the second lord and a majority of the court from most of my lists.

I too have found the need for royal courts reduced. They are still very good but not needed like they were in 5th. I started looking at the Dlord for smaller games as my only HQ when I just want someone cheap and functioal to fill the FOC slot.
