Its a 2000 aniversary Emporers Champion, was Limited edition, but I have no clue just how limited?

Almost all GW limited editions tend to go from around $25-50... advanced search ebay completed listings, and ignore the stupid-high/low results.

I can see a few of the current sculpt but in metal, this is from before that. I'm sure some of you remember this one or even have one?

edit; xD Apologies... i had Emporers.. not Emperors ... curse my awful spelling! If anyone cares, £20-25 seems reasonable from what I'm now seeing on ebay.

Keep in mind, the broken sword grip and the fact that he has been previously painted will keep the price down somewhat.

Ofcourse... to be honest I never wanted to sell it... was just curious tbh.
I used to collect a lot when I was a teen, then other interests took over for a while and now 10 years later I'm back.
This guy is one of a small box of (mostly 80's dnd) figures that remain from a once vast collection that got sold off.
He's in my todo pile .. current project is magnetising some recently stripped marines hehe.

on that note any idea on the price of a complete Heroes of the Adeptus Astartes box set would be?

£35 doesn't sound all that bad if you ask me.

Been trying to find mine for a while now.

He was the mini given out at Games Day in very late 90's early 2000's

yeah that doesn't seem too unreasonable for a new in box one. My one however has been opened, built, stripped, repainted, stripped again, and the sword piece is broken between the 2 hands and has to be pinned together (really tiny pin!)
I've stuck him together and used a little greenstuff between the sword piece and the body now.
He might get a spiffing purple paint job and be my new marine commander with a relic blade.... depends if I want to work in the templar iconography or something else I guess.

It would be difficult to say for me. Back when that mini first came out, a friend of mine had him. He didn't want it, so I traded him 3 plastic Space Marines for it. I've seen them go in the $50 range on e-bay though, so may want to check that out.

He wasn't a Games Day mini. He was sold in GW stores for GW's 25th Anniversary, and was later released in the 'Heroes of the Adeptus Astartes' box.

Absolutely sure. He was released in 2000 (May, according to Stuff of Legends, which sounds about right to me) ... the Games Day mini for that year was the Black Orc Boss.

It's possible The GW was selling leftovers at Games Day.

Could also have varied from country to country.

They did this a lot here. That 'limited edition' Witch Hunter with plasma pistol ended up in blister packs on the shelf, here, for example.

Fair play that, I didn't get the Warboss though remember a queue about a mile long and everyone was getting the EC.

Either way, that seems to have cleared that up

afaik it was a 25th anniversary ltd edition blister pack only. I had dropped out of the hobby by the time they did this Heroes of the Imperium box set and knew nothing of it.

The figure in the photo was bought from a local independant stockist that has since ceased to stock and we now have a gw store. It cost me £5 I can remember it specifically and I believe it was may 2000, I used to have a sculpt of Bilbo Baggins holding the ring out flat in his palm that was supposed to be ltd edition. Its long gone though unfortunatly :(
