Well given some people got to see the proofs first hand at Bovington, we didnt think it fair to those that didnt make it...

So being the good chaps that we are, I managed to grasp these from Warwick to show them off! These are still at a proof stage, but I figured you'd like to see them...

I hope you like them.

That's a pretty looking book. You're just making it harder to wait for the final product! (don't stop showing us hints though! )

Is this a rulesystem, a source book, or something else? Because it does look interesting. Is Battlegroup its own rule set?

It is indeed a new set of rules from PSC & Ironfist;

http://theplasticsoldiercompany.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=70&products_id=292&zenid=fpkqr9obq5ao6bkmouphpaq1v1

This first book will contain the core rules and lists for Kursk.

Is there a sample mission/ruleset for it? Also does/will the game focus on any particular era/location, or will it be all of WW2?

Its title - Battlegroup Kursk - kinda gives a clue to its focus...

It has a selection of generic scenarios, historical ones and a campaign withing the book.

This is the first of many books we are doing covering WW2. The rules will cover all of WW2, but the lists and stats, plus additional rules will focus on given periods.

The next books is Battlegroup Normandy...

Back in the English morass

Is there much difference between this and Kampfgruppe Normandy?

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.
-Leman Russ, Meditations on Imperial Command book XVI (AKA the RT era White Dwarf Commpendium).
Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

Yup... We have rewritten quite a bit. Changed and streamlined some thing, expanded others.

While KGN players will find it familiar in concept it is different in many parts.

It plays alot better in my view and we spent a long time getting it right.

This looks very interesting. Kursk was huge, but doesn't seem to be gamed as much as other locations.
Panzer Aces volume 1 has a very good firsthand account of Prokhorovka. Hope this game does it justice.

Well there are plenty of stats in the book... We included early war marks of Panzer III, IV and Stug. KVs are in it...

So yer... Would take too much to do it with it.

Of course, you could wait for Battlegroup Barbarossa... But thats probably not for a year or so... As we have the late-war books followed by Blitzkreig.

How well would this work in 1/300th scale?

Works fine... My mate plays it in that scale!

He has just halved all the ranges. Or you could use CM instead of inches.

Shhhh... Dont tell them about the prizes! Or the free giveaway kit for the first 500 pre-orders!!!

Actually not checked with Will where we are on pre-orders... At Bovvy we were well over the 300 mark, so Im guessing will be a few places left for the chance to win a big pile of PSC stuff!
