I.E. could the Avatar join a unit of Guardians?

IC rules (pg. 39) states they cannot join squadrons or units that consist of 1 model (a MC). However, it is the MC that is joining a multi-model unit.

The Avatar is an IC?

Remember, Characters are not the same as Independent Characters

Is the Avatar an independent character?

If not, then it cannot join any other unit.

I have found again and again that in encounter actions, the day goes to the side that is the first to plaster its opponent with fire. The man who lies low and awaits developments usually comes off second best. - Erwin Rommel
